lol... Mac and Me.

My bros and I had that taped off our VCR. Almost broke the tape rewinding the part where the kid in the wheelchair falls off the cliff.

I always wondered when I saw Good Burger if the George Clinton scene was a riff on the McDonalds advertisement in Mac and Me.

Four couples meet for Sunday brunch, then discover they are stuck in a house together as the world may be about to end.

Watched it way back in my drinking days and don't remember all that much about it other than I liked it. Not exactly a Diorama (Bottle) flick, but it all takes place in the house once you get there.

I do remember that the only scenes that take place outside of the house are right in the beginning when the new couple (Julia Styles and David Cross) are talking about what to expect when she's introducing him to her friends for the first time, and how silly those concerns seemed once nuclear war started.

And to be honest, I don't even remember the end of the movie or if there really was a nuclear war taking place or not. I do remember that the question itself popped up at least on one occasion if it wasn't a major plotpoint.

Figured I'd throw that movie idea out there for anybody who wanted to get one last decent indie film in them before the real nuclear Armageddon starts.

Never seen it, reminds me of how I can socialize but then happily avoid people and all that social crap

but found a totally different trailer

for a different movie

Project X (2012) ...is it good I have no idea, but Budget $12 million

the rule is to keep it under 20 Million or 16 Million?

I know the feeling... My aunt once said that she "likes the idea of people". That about sums it up for me. I prefer hanging out with one or just several friends at a time and don't want anything to do with big get-togethers anymore. Even better if we're working on a project or something when hang out instead of sitting around and doing nothing.

I guess $20 Mil is fine in 2026.

We're probably well beyond Indie at that level, but the title of the thread was low budget AND indie flicks, so $20 Million is certainly low-budget compared to anything Disney puts out on the regular.
