With all the spoilers from the lucky few that got to see the screenings flying around in clear view, there also have to be some fake guesses slipping through the cracks. Maybe it's jealous fans that didn't get to the phone in time, or maybe it's reckless trolls that get a kick out of seeing people go "AH!"...either way, they've gotten their way onto the Universal Board, and gotten their threads to the eyes of the fandom.

SO, I was thinking, maybe we could call upon those that have seen the screenings to answer some questions? Perhaps it's a stupid idea that could also get out of hand, though I know getting things clarified would be of great help to ME. Maybe if anything iffy was kept to a spoiler tag...?

If this thread works out, or not, I still need to ask one thing, and hopefully I'll get an answer. I'm not sure what kind of answer I want, though...*Gulp* Sticking it under 'tags for the sanity of others. Honestly, if you don't want to be put in the chance of being spoiled, DON'T LOOK AT IT! I SAY AGAIN! NO LOOKY!

I made the mistake of visiting the 'Versal Boards, and I caught sight of some comments about Wash getting killed? Part of me thinks it could really happen, considering who the writer/director is, while part of me thinks that Joss isn't THAT evil. I mean, who would fill in? Some clarification on this would be insanely nifty. Thanks in advance.

Yes, Wash dies. I haven't seen the film. I was spoiled very much the same way you were but I also read further that River was piloting the ship in the end of the movie.

I hate myself right now. I read yours guys spoliers and I'm so bummed out. I dunno why I read them. I had no control over my hand on the mouse. I TOTALLY regret reading them. Grrr...Argh.

Does anybody have a time machine I could borrow to stop myself from reading the spoliers??

I've seen the movie and will answer any questions you have if you want to send them to me via e-mail ( soupcatcher1 AT yahoo DOT com ). I'd rather do it that way than responding to the thread because it's far too easy for stuff that originally was in spoiler tags to be seen and I'm trying to be ultra-sensitive to not abuse the tremendous gift from Joss that was the screening.

yes. I hate to tell you but that is the case. I saw the movie before i saw the show and now that i'm watching the show i'm even more bummed about it.

The movie was the best damn thing I've ever seen. Yes, I'm bummed Wash is gone, but that's the point of the thing. I spent the last half-hour thinking everybody was fair game and that all of our heroes could die. That was the point, and it worked out incredibly. I didn't breathe for the last five minutes of the climax.

RIP Wash, but hot damn if that wasn't the best movie I've ever seen.

Yup. But you have to see it in context as to why.

By the end of the movie, ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN. Anybody could die. How does it end............ Pretty much everybody in the cinema will be thinking that. That's the point.

That's what I was afraid of happening....it's kind of exactly what I did. "Oh, it's nothing big, let's just see a few - WHAT?!"

Thanks to all who replied to this thread. LIVIDLIQUID, thanks for boosting my confidence in the movie despite this happening! Eeep! Even though I'm downright spoiled, something I was avoiding (of course I had to prod it along further once I caught sight of something...curse me), reading all the comments accompanied with the answer is helping. Joss wouldn't do anything if it wasn't vital....I still can't wait until September.
