Another one of my brainwaves escapes

I`m trying to get a tidyied up script for the un-filmed `Dead or Alive` script printed out to be acted out/voiced by willing volunteers.

What are peoples thoughts on doing this, entirely for fun and unless somebody wants to bring a tape recorder or other recording device completely unaired

Maybe get together and practice for a while & then come together before the end of the Con to act/read it out for real (note I say act but there will be no gunplay no explosions & absolutely no blood spilled

The script is in 5 parts - teaser, act 1,2,3 & 4

There is a link here somewhere,which I might dig out later for those interested.

I`ve retyped it up to make it easier to read through and will get a few personal copies printed frot the purpose of reading it through together.

Should be a bit of fun. We can rehearse it through a few times and then run through it proper.

Of course we could do any of the other scripts too, but I haven`t `Zol'd`

them yet.

I think it's a fun idea! Wow, I didn't know there was unshot Firefly script lying around. Can't wait to finish reading it.

Think we can get enough volunteers for all the roles? Cuz I got a Kaylee-esque daughter with thespian leanings. I'm fairly sure she'd like to do this, too.

Petit_Rhino has said she would like to read `River`

What I thought of doing was to make up a flyer with the names of parts required, there`s 1 or 2 with just 1 line (Angry Crowd #1, #2 etc.)

I thought I would Narrate the scene and that gives plenty of parts to go around.

Here`s the list of Parts as they appear in the script (with a note of M & F for Male or Female voice)-

Of course parts can be voiced by male or female, I`ve located my MiniDisk with it`s built in microphone.

I would suggest we take over a room or bedroom in the hotel and have only a few bystanders so as to keep the chatter to a minimum - of course there`s nothing stopping us from doing it elsewhere, but could get distracted.

p.s. I`m arriving mid-morning (probably) at the Thistle depending on what else gets organised, and will try to get the scripts copied up for all the reading parts (20!) (I guess we need a big room!!)

I was only going to record it as a recording for myself (and then anybody who wants an MP3 copy) - I don`t know how we can get everybody around the Unit (unless someone can comeup with another idea)

btw, I have no acting experience, so this will be more of a reading (well, I will be narrating

)

I`ll attempt to get a flyer done and ready for the con - then I can get these printed out at the same time as the 20 scripts - it`s a good job that I can use photocopiers for testing

*Uh Oh - just checked out the MD recorder - couldn`t find the mike ... doesn`t have one, I will get one though*

Just a tip Zol...

If you are handing out flyers check its okay with Sean Harry first as he doesn't like it when people just turn up and expect to hand things out at his con. ALWAYS get permission from him first. I hand out flyers to promote Summer's site but wouldn't do it without permission from Sean.

OK, thanks, I`ll ask Sean, just really want a single sheet to stick up for volunteers to write their name on to participate in the private reading.

If it comes to it, I t can be done by word of mouth but it`s easier with a poster/flyer
