hey brown coats,
i am just wondering if any of you are relly big role players but i know i am. and afterwatching all the episodes i want to role play in a world of firefly. i want to know if any one else is interested. if so you think we can mass e-mail wizards or some other company to come up with one. i mean they did make a buffy rpg but the system isnt so great. i say we try our best for a firefly game. seriously who of us wants to capt. their own firefly class ship

Hmmm.
Ya know, both SJ Games GURPS system and the open-source d20 system have legal ways for fans like us to create our own supplements and games using their systems. There's a bit of paperwork, but in the end it's a great deal for everyone.

There was a website that was trying to start a Firefly game using the GURPS Lite rules at http://www.profj.org/firefly/luxlucre/gurps.html

Since the apparant demise of the apparently great man that started it, it has moved on to a Yahoo Group: http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/GURPS-Firefly/

Also, I can kill you with my brain.

Back in January an announcement was made on RPG.net that the rights to "Serenity" had been bought up by Margaret Weis Productions with the intent of writing a game based on our favorite show.

No other news is out there yet, but I am excitedly looking forward to its release, my gut tells me it is probably gonna come out around the time of the BDM.

Official announcements are coming soon, but we have been hard at work for quite some time now, with a huge crew of fantastic playtesters, and some of the best talents in the industry. Our design team includes myself (Jamie Chambers), Margaret Weis, Tracy Hickman, James M. Ward, Lester Smith, Tony Lee, Andrew Peregrine, and James Davenport. We're going to have a big, beautiful book in full color on shelves in late summer.

More information, and a new website, will be coming soon. Until then, keep flyin'!

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I actually have the honor of being one of the first to sign up w/ Jamie as a playtester for the Serenity RPG that MWP is working on.

All I can say is that it is shaping up to be one shiny game. I know that all the Browncoat RPGers will be really happy with what Jamie and crew are putting together.
