I am new to Buffy and Angel. I found myself craving something Joss, so I borrowed the Buffy and Angel DVDs and am enjoying them both.

The thing is i've just finished about 10 eps of Angel and was taking to Doyle but he got killed off!! Does he get brought back? Can anyone else see similarities between Doyle and Mel Gibson? I think Doyle has very similar facial expressions and speech.(might be its just me)

Doyle is no more. There are references to him throughout the series, but the character himself has passed. His death would be meaningless if he were brought back.

Also, the actor who portrayed him, Glenn Quinn, died in December 2002, making a return of Doyle even more impossible.

There's no such thing as a free lunch, but you can get a free breakfast at any major hotel chain in America!

yeah, Glenn Quinn, who you may remember as 'Becky's husband Mark' from the Roseanne Show
(did Joss meet him when he was writing for that show?)
was very good, but had substance abuse problems,
I was pleased that they paid a bit of a homage to his character in S5 of Ats (I won't spoil you for it if you haven't gotten there yet).

BTW have you read Joss' comic books? Fray continues the Slayer mythology into the future Sci Fi world...
in fact in the Tales of the Slayer comic Joss wrote two stories, one about the original slayer to start out the Graphic novel, and then a story about Fray to end it (and Amber Benson, AKA Tara, wrote one of the middle stories).

Yep. He discusses much of his previous work in a great interview with the Onion AV Club in 2001.
