I know this probably has been beaten into the ground, but lets beat it a little more eh?

What are your favorite Firefly scenes for these reasons:

Heart touching: The end of Ariel when Simon tells River "No, mei-mei its time to wake up"

Tear Jerker: The end of Out of Gas when Mal first lays his eyes upon Serenity and can't hear a word the salesmen is saying

Funniest: i can't pick, its to hard

I'm sure there are a ton of others I could list, but these are my current ones:

Funniest: In "Serenity" when Mal tells Simon Kaylee is dead and then the crew has a good laugh over it

Tear Jerker: In "Heart of Gold" when Inara is sitting in a little ball in the corner crying her heart out after Mal sleeps with Nandi

Heart touching: In "Out of Gas" when Mal wakes up and his crew is surrounding him and they all promise to be there when he wakes up

*Funniest: many scenes with Jayne, on that stands out for me. Shindig: after Mal makes the comment about Kaylee looking like a sheep walking on its hind legs and the ladies storm off, furious. Jayne turns to mal and says "Is she mad or something?" with this genuine look of confusion on his face.

*Tear-jerker: End of safe, when Simon says "light it"

*Heart touching: This might sound weird, but with every additional time I watch Objects in Space, when River reads simon's mind in the teaser, I get deeply touched by his words "I'd be there right now" (?). I guess it just shows how strongly he loves his sister, but at the same time how much he has sacrificed.

Funniest: the conversation between jayne and mal at the start of shin dig. "I'd reconsider that if I were you, I married me a powerfull ugly creature" you know the rest.

Tear Jerker: The conversation in safe between Simon and River when she applogizes for takeing him away from his normal life. her words "You found me broken" have always haunted me a bit.

Heart Touching: I'm a sucker for kaylee I guess. At the end of serenity after they just did the full power burn she's sitting off in the corner and pats Serenity softly saying "thats my girl, that my good girl"

Funniest: "Mercy is the mark of a great man...... I guess I'm just a good man..... I'm alright."

Tearjerker: In OiS when River is telling Early why she'll go with them "Dangerous. Can't be controlled. Can't be trusted...everyone can be what they want to be..." etc, everyone's looking sort of guilty and Simon just quietly says "No." I think it's the look on his face there that's the tear-inducer.

Heart touching: "Make somethin' up. Don't tell 'em what I done." Jayne has redeeming qualities!

Tearjerker: Inara's crying in "Heart of Gold."

Heart Touching: Mal's bitter "we won" in "Serenity" (as Jayne is gleefully stashing the stolen supplies).

Coolest: "Big Damn Heroes, sir."

I'm reading all of these posts, all excellent, I might add. Mal has every intention of letting Jayne get sucked out the cargo bay door, untill..... The cynic in me might think Jayne was just playing up Mals sense of loyalty , putting what would be best for the crew ahead of himself as 1 last despirate ploy to stay alive, but I think we all know Jayne just isn't that clever. I think it was a pivitol moment for Jayne, and Mal realized it.

Funniest: Wash in The Message: "Oh my god, it's grotesque! Oh, and there's something in a jar...... Do not fear me, ours is a peaceful race. "
Tear Jerker: " Light it"

Funniest: On Out of Gas when Jayne comes in while Mal and Wash are fighting. "What are you two thinking, fighting at a time like this." Just when you think Jayne is going to be all sensitive he adds,"You're gonna use up all the air."

Tear Jerker: Real men don't cry. Awww gorramit you're going to make me admit it ain't ya? Well the whole funeral scene in The Message, where they take Tracey's body to his folks. Everything in that scene is just too perfect, from the music to the repeating of the message, to Kaylee holding Simon's hand, and then just when you can't take it much anymore the camera pans up to Mal's face. Makes me get a little misty everytime I see it. Listening to the commentary made it even worse because you knew then that when they were filming that scene the actors knew that was it for the series as well.

Heart Touching: When Mal just pets Serenity during Out of Gas when he's telling them about the fact he's staying with her. Gives me goosebumps everytime because you can just tell he loves that ship and that the ship isn't just a ship, she's a major character too and in her way (as far as ships can) she loves him right back. The cuts between the empty rooms on the ship add that to it because it's like Serenity has lost her people. And I mean that in a possessive sense. Very, very close tie with the end of Out of Gas when you see Mal staring at something, ignoring the used spaceship salesman, and you know it's gonna be Serenity he's looking at but when you see it. Yep chills again.

The one scence that makes me laugh every time I see it is when River says "Jayne is a girl's name". I absolutely LOVE the expression on her face. I laugh every time I see it! Another good one is in "Our Mrs. Reynolds" when Mal and Inara are talking at the end and you THINK Mal has realized that Inara loves him but instead he has this pseudoerotic vision of what actually happened. Funny stuff!

Heart touching scene: I agree with those that chose the last scenes in "Out of Gas". Another good one is the end scene in "Safe" when Simon asks Mal why he came back for them and Mal's reply is "You're part of my crew. Why are we still talking about this?".

Tear jerkers: It would have to be the funeral in "The Message". Very sad.

Heart Touching: In "Safe," when River tells Simon he found her broken.

Tear Jerker: "The Message," but not the funeral scene, but just before, when Zoe finally finishes the old saying they've only hinted at before.

Scariest Moment: When Early asks Kaylee if she's ever been raped.

INSPIRATIONAL: Tough call...I really liked Simon's first encounter with Early. "I'd rather die standing." But hard to say.
FRUSTRATING: The second Simon/Kaylee scene in OiS.
FUNNY: the scene with Mal in the war flashback in 'The Message'. "I really wanted your beans."
SCARY: OiS, Early & Kaylee.
COOL: Mal-"Cut her down." Constiple-"Girl's a witch." Mal-"Yeah, but she's our witch [cocks his gun]. So cut her the hell down."
SAD: OoG, Mal closing the doors, shuttles launching.
