Would anyone be interested in creating a Mod for morrowind that converts it into the firefly universe? Just an idea I had, thought it might be fun :)

The engine is there.. easy to make new landforms and such.

Just need new weapons/skins/armour meshes, as well as some people to create dialogue, and a plot

We could leave space at the side.....

There would be several Worlds and the serenity itself.....

Inside the ship the player had the choice to which planet or station to travel....

The major Problem would be to create firearms....

I would be on board if we managed to let this project happen.

Yeah, I was thinking along the lines of the second one as well.

Once inside a spaceship (if and when the player acquires access to one), the could choose where to go by speaking to the captain.

I wasn't planning on having it based on the characters in the show, but based on the universe the show is set in. That way, you could create your own kind of character, and play the game the way you wanted to.

Some of the planets in the firefly universe wouldn't be too hard to replicate, while others would provide some difficulty without skinning and adding new meshes (the floating houses/islands pose no problems, but morrowind in it's normal state doesn't have any high tech skins for buildings.

The crew of Serenity could even make a cameo ;)

Don't know if you've seen the post, but Jubilee started a great one way back about making a Neverwinter Nights mod, and I've worked on my own. Mine's done - ran three DM'd sessions this past week, and it works like a charm! I used a bunch of futuristic, asian, and wild west models and tilesets people have made for NWN. It all has the feel of the Firefly 'Verse, and people really seemed to have a good time.

Look for the post (Neverwinter Nights Module for Firefly), or go to the fireflynwn Yahoo group for more info!

Morrowind is certainly a great alternative choice of engine - thought you'd like to see what else is out there.

This would be way cool...
However, it also would be very difficult and time consuming. (for those who have done any serious mod'n in MW this is not news to you)

Guns would be a challenge (though i hear that there are other sci-fi mods for MW in the works who are tackling this problem)

And to just have a ship that you can have take you from planet to planet, you still have to create the planets. The only way I can think of to do it(using exterior cells) would be to make many little islands representing each planet with ships that can take you to each one. But a player could still just swim, or fly, to it on their own without using a ship. If someone could figure out a way around that(maybe using only interior cells) it might work. Or those playing it would just have to stick to the rules and use their imagination.

Still coming up with a 'Vera', or a 'Serenity' for use in MW would be way shiny.
Just my two bits...
