I don't like the last paragraph of that article. It sounding more like they have rewritten the story to bring Simon and River back in. I think it is going to be an epic version of the pilot rather a continuation.

My guess is they might show exactly HOW Simon was able to get River out. If the movie is supposed to take place 6 months after the series ended, then my guess is that they'll flash back to the guys that Simon paid to rescue River. But that's just a guess.

SWITCHY

I actually predicted a plot over a year ago that involved starting the movie with Simon and River's escape up until they reach Serenity and then leaping past the series to pick up their story. I think it could very easily go that way.
