Is there anyone else out there willing to kill to see the last episode, "Dead or Alive" made? I wanna see Jayne with that Turtle...
(this was a Joss script, right?)

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I would definitely like to see it produced, but as far as killing for it........depends on who the victim is.

The text file I've got of that script says that it was written by "Cheryl Cain".

It doesn't look all that bad. Get to see some new angles on Mal and Simon. To kill for it though? eh... dunno. I think the actual video with actors and everything makes so much more sense than sterile words on a page. Can't really get a good sense of what it would be like. At least I can't. *sobs* I can't read scripts!

Sorry, what was the question?

While there's a lot of cool elements in that script, including a very dark look at Simon, the main story would have too many similarities to "The Message". (I'm pretty sure "DOA" was intended to be episode 7 or 8 or so.) We probably would have seen the other elements of the script in later episodes though. *sob*

"Dead or Alive" would've been made after "Our Mrs. Reynolds," but it was rejected for some reason, posssibly because of anticipated high production costs or the network didn't like it. It was not "the last episode," or even "the last script."

Fox executives.
No, I think it would be more fun to leave them alive, so they can sit back and watch Joss and Universal make a ton of money from Firefly. And know that they could have too, if they hadn't been such buttheads.

Couldn't agree more! Let the bastards watch Joss, the cast, and Universal rake in all the money, and the fanbase reap the rewards of a movie and new series.
