Instructions: Ok this is going to be very rough. I had a spare piece of leather that’s not quite the full size but its pretty close. I made a few errors on my first try as well because I rushed it. I started with the front of the holster to model to the backside later. The length from the muzzle end to the tang holder is approx 11” (pic #1). The distance between the two tang holders is approx. 1.5” don’t go by the pictures measurements, I made the space to wide (see pic #2). The middle of the tang holder is what I call the top center of the holster. Use this top and draw a ling down the middle of the holster (removable line). Go down 1” and across to the left 6” you get your side dimensions(pic #3). On the left (outside) side of the holster go up 3” from the tang(see pic #4). This will be the tang holder with the outside snap. The thickness of the left tang holder is around 1”. Draw a line from the top of the tang down to the left side as seen in picture #5. Leave enough room at the end of the line for a ¾” jut downward to the full length of the holster. From their down its around 11.4-12” down on a convex curve to the front of the muzzle.

The right side is much less accurate than the left because I didn’t have any scrap’s big enough to do a complete holster. An easy way to make the line for the right side is to fold the holster (making sure not to crease it) down the top center of the holster. Use the tang as a reference to the middle (see pic #6). Follow the left side until you get to the jut from the left side (see pic #7). Go up after the jut in a slightly concaved way for approx. 14”, I would go up around 16” and cut back the extra. This is for the belt attachment, or the part I didn’t do. The belt loop looks to be around 3” wide. Just go up with it and back down the opposite side of the holster and rivet it into place.

I didn’t do the buckle bit that goes around, but it seems straight forward and simple. Just cut a piece around 1.25” wide and 11” long. Attach a buckle and rivet to the back of the holster.

Finally, the stitching. Stitching space 1/8” or 4-5 threads per inch. And follow it down the side. I recommend using a three prong 1/8” spacing prong chisel. An example found here http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com/products.asp?number=8045-00. Clamp the two sides of the leather together with a piece of wood in between the heads of the clamp so as to not damage the leather. This will keep the two sides in the same place while you make the stitching spaces. Stitch together and your done.

It still needs to be dyed and weathered and sewed. If you need instructions on how to sew or dye leather, just ask.

This is all the information I had to go off. If someone has advise on improvements dont be afraid to shout out.

Of course, there's always QMx, http://www.quantummechanix.com/stuntpistol.html which offers the Serenity version for about $166 shipped. It comes with a neat poster, similar to the one posted by fearthemullet (they were designed by the same guy). But, you can sometimes find it a bit cheaper on ebay!

If you want the Firefly version of the pistol (my favorite), your best bet would probably be ebay. There are a couple variations out there to choose from. Some more accurate than others.

Yeah, after I made that post I went and found that link.. I think I'm going to hold out for the "metal version" they mention they're in the process of making.

Last I heard, that puppy is reportedly going to run somewhere between $500-$700! It'll be nice for sure, but ... ouch! My wallet starts screaming just when I think about it!!!

It'll be more than worth it, I've already started saving for it. Now if I could just get a working replica ;)
