HARDWARE

I got my DVD's for Christmas from my girlfriend. She bought them as much for her as for me. She doesn't like sci-fi but she likes Firefly!

Anyhow, since I've been binging on episodes this weekend I noticed a few things I missed during the broadcast and wanted to bring them up here.

In Ariel when bluehand #2 uses his rod on the security guards they scream and bleed not only from the head that would indicated concussive injury, but also from the nails. I had to watch it twice, but the head guard appeared to be bleeding there, hard to say because he wiped his nose with the hand you see. However, when they kill the guard that Simon knocked out they show him laying on the floor, he is clearly bleeding from the nail beds.

This seems to indicate to me they were subject to either a disrupting energy, or something that caused their cell membranes to become very permeable. Not a big difference, fatal in either case.

River mentions to Jayne in Trash that she can kill him with her mind.

There is some link between River and bluehands.

Maybe the rod isn't a weapon. Maybe the rod is an antenna or amplifier that makes it easier to use/control the forces the academy was working to bring out in River?

The more I get to know people the more I like my dogs.

wow, there's a horrifying thought.
i think if we looked real closely, they're probably bleeding from their ears, and i know they were bleading from their eyes. i used to know what that meant. alas. maybe someone, anyone else knows?
and how do you suppose the blue-hand men make themselves immune?
