HATESOLSTICE

Well, I just thought I'd take this time to say that my wife and I recently finished watching the DVD set of Firefly, and we are very eagerly waiting to borrow the movie from a friend to watch it. It's sad that it was such a short lived show, it could have become absolutely incredible. And, well, I'm just glad to know we're not the only ones who think so.

Welcome Hatesolstice (and wife!)....I'm glad you found Firefly... but sorry that there is no more...once you see the movie....please go and buy the collector's edition. Joss Whedon left the door open a teeny-tiny bit for a sequel..and it all hinges on the successful sales figures for the CE...Otherwise, you will enjoy this site...lots of us die-hard hopers here. Enjoy, get settled in and others will be along to greet you with gifts.

Welcome HateSolstice and spouse! We share your pains about the brevity of this wonderful show. (As we all know the star that burns twice as bright burns half as bla bla bla...) And we will do our best to infuse you with some of our borderline-obsessed hope at some continuance. Even if that miracle doesn't come true (and let's all remember that Serenity (BDM) was a miracle in and of itself, and all you flans that got here before me and helped make that happen should be proud of yourselves), the 'Verse will live on in bright, appreciative folks like yourselves.

I speak for at least a few of us (and probably a lot more) when I say I'm always interested to hear what particular themes or moments brought you into Firefly deeply enough to find yourself here. You'll find a thread in Episode Discussions where you could share your thoughts in that direction, if you've a mind to.

I've met a great group of folk and learned and laughed a lot since I was handed my Browncoat just a few short weeks ago. The caliber of people it has attracted may be the greatest testament to the show's quality. Could be you'll find a home here. Hope you do.

Ahoy, HS and Mrs. HS! HS, you're #28086 (or thereabouts) to sign on aboard our shiny ship. We urge Mrs. HS to get her own name and number and to join in the wacky fun.

Somebody should be along eventually to offer virtual browncoat(s), always fitted perfectly to the individual wearer.

I've got a loverly bunch of strawberries on ice here, and the whipped cream to go on top. Wash 'em down with the finest counterfeit "Higgins' Moon" Mudder's Milk this talented crew has yet produced, and marvel at the authenticity of the bottles!

Ice-planets will be here as soon as someone finds a stand which is stocked with all 48 flavors.

Honestly, I can't think of any one particular thing that really brought me in. Overall, I'd have to say just everything about it was excellent. The humor, story telling, atmosphere, and originality for a Sci-Fi show altogether. And, of course, there is one thing that I can't put a name to about the show that just touched me. But I'll stop before this becomes anything more than PG. >_>

As a side note, this show greatly reminded me of an anime I fell in love with called "Cowboy Bebop". If you haven't ever seen it, you might look it up. You'd be surprised how similar in so many things the two shows are.
