seeing as joss' other show Buffy got its own spin-off after 3 seasons it would have been a great possibility thta had firefly survived it could of gotten its own spin-off aswell, and wit such a huge cast there were many possibilities for this to happen.
Which characters do you think would have been most likely to gain their own spin-off and what do you think the show would be like?

I would like to see a spin off called "The Sheriff of Paridiso."

Simon and River could set up a small medical practice on a back woods planet and do a Dr Quinn with a crazy sister type show. He heals the outside, she heals the inside.

Jayne could do a mercenary for hire type show. Always traveling from town to town, always being the good guy but never fitting in. He could run into Kaylee once in awhile just so we could see the lovesick look in his eyes.

Book could be a David Carradine type. Always traveling from town to town preaching and kicking bad guy butt. He and Jayne could hook up and travel together.

Inara buys a bar and Mal becomes sheriff. They all do a Gunsmoke type show.

Hmmmmm...
Mal=Matt Dillon
Inara=Miss Kitty
Jayne=Festus
Simon=Doc
River=River?
Wash=Banker
Zoe=Deputy
Book=Preacher
Kaylee=School teacher
Book=Preacher

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

LOL

I like the Gunsmoke reference. Mal as Marshall Dillon and Inara as Ms. Kitty.

A spin off would be tough to call since they hardly had a chance to get off the ground. I think that Mal & Inara getting together and continuing to travel the stars looking for a place that would accept both of them would be cool.

Jayne and his mercenary exploits would be fun.

How 'bout another series called "Broken Wing."

Atherton Wing in his never ending quest to get a live-in companion, engages in sword play in order to regain his place in society. He is never quite as good since he took the sword point in the shoulder. Never quite heals before he finds himself in his next fight. Vows revenge against Mal for tricking him into loosing. Winds up doing odd jobs for Badger.

OK, this is a good one.

"Jiangyin Bandstand" Hosted by one who appears to have been dipped in an eternal elixer, local youth come to dance and rate the latest Ho Down music. All are welcome, clap if you can keep time, just watch the show if you can't. If we are really lucky, you might see a kidnapping.

Sorry, Can't help myself.

"The Bumbeling Bounty Hunter"

Dodson, tired of earning penny bounties for the Alliance, accidentilly bumps into a prissy, bespectaled doctor. Later learning he is on of the Alliances "Most Wanted," with a HUGE bounty. After a couple shots of liquid courage, he decides that he can 'take him.' He books passage on the same ship waiting for the right moment. Even though thwarted at every turn, he manages to singlehandedly fends off a Reaver attack. Somehow manages to alienate the captain and crew. "Was it something I said or something I done?" Bravely endures an interrogation from none other than Jayne Cobb, 'The Butcher of Higgen's Moon." After a climatic gun battle, he is escorted off of the ship by the captain and Jayne.

Dang, more reavers...

-Cancelled after one episode.-

Mmmm...I like the sound of that one! I would so watch that.

Actually, I would watch any Firefly spin-off!

But a show all about Jayne would just be the precious...

Book: “A duel?”
Wash: “With swords?”
Simon: “The Captain's a good fighter, he must know how to handle a sword?”
Zoe: “I think he knows which end to hold.”

And there'd be a theme song, set to him riding around on a Mule over some scrubby brush valley, interspersed with shots of him taking shots at the various villains-of-the-week.

JAAAAAAAYNE!
The man they call JAAAAAAAYNE!
He robbed from the rich and he gave to the poor,
Stood up to the man and he gave him what for,
Our love for him now ain't hard to explain,
The hero of primetime, the man they call Jayne!

There is always the DS9 option, set the spin off on some distant spit and sawdust space station. Kind of an intergalactic service station. Mal and crew could pop in every once in a while as well as some new characters
