CENTURY CITY, Calif./TORONTO, ON, (September 29, 2003) – Journey to the wild western space frontier when Fox Home Entertainment presents “Buffy” creator Joss Whedon’s FIREFLY THE COMPLETE SERIES DVD COLLECTION on December 9. Set 500 years in the future, FIREFLY combines western and sci-fi genres, and revolves around the space adventures of the crew of the Serenity, a small transport ship, lead by their captain Malcolm “Mal” Reynolds played by Nathan Fillion (“Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place”). Timed to coincide with the “Buffy” Season Five DVD Collection release, the collectible four-disc DVD set is available for the suggested retail price of $49.98 U.S./$69.98 Canada and features three never-before-seen episodes, multiple featurettes, a gag reel, deleted scenes, an Easter egg and multiple commentaries. SERIES SYNOPSIS:
Set 500 years in the future, in the wake of a universal civil war, FIREFLY centers on the crew of Serenity, a small transport spaceship that doesn't have a planet to call home.

Just spoke with Megan at the Fox Consumer Hotline 888-223-2369.

She said that it is Anamorphic Widescreen 1.78:1 and read that off a copy of the sleeve.

Thank goodness, I'm really getting tired of these BS pan-and-scan scares...

I also emailed the 2 addresses on the release suggesting them that they fix it and send it back out. I told them that orders may be cancelled if its believed to be full screen. I considered it with the hope that a widescreen would eventualy come out.

Wow, not only did they get the widescreen wrong but:

Quote:

Ø Serenity Part 1 & 2 10/20/02

It was 12/20, not 10/20

Quote:

Ø Featurettes: Making of "Here How it Was” and “Serenity: The Tenth Character”

I believe that should be Here's How it Was

And the Making of really doesnt belong since there was nothing by either of those names to show how they were made.

I know that the DVDs are being released by a different division of Fox, but looks like the Home Video dept is just as brainless.

Sorry, in a nitpicky mood.
