And in the running for Least Shocking Whedonverse News Item of 2007...

Booster Events has announced that they are closing up shop.

No offers of refunds, no apologies, no nothing.

From the various posts I've read around the Net, some people are actually getting refunds via their credit card companies from the Flan2 debacle.
I truly feel sorry for those people who paid big $$ for lifetime passes to BE Cons.

Yeah, I got mine back from my credit card the day after the Con was supposed to start. But those people who didn't use credit cards, and instead paid via paypal, or by some other means, are completed screwed.

I really hope someone pays for this.

I'm sure you've seen the call for people to file complaints against BE through the Portland police department.

I've seen postings with the detective in charge's name on the OB, whedonesque, and serenitymovie.

I get a feeling someone will be paying. Eventually.
