NOXIOUS

The title is "Ballad of Serenity” composed by Joss Whedon and performed
by Sonny Rhodes. Or at least that is what I've been told.

You are
What you do
When it counts
-The Masao

Most Probably,
Noxious

Can I just say that I LOVE the theme song?! My brother and I sing it on the train on the way home from work.

When Firefly returns (when - not if!) to our screens, I think Joss should do a musical episode. I'd imagine it would be all country and westerny, but it would be soooo cool!

Book: “A duel?”
Wash: “With swords?”
Simon: “The Captain's a good fighter, he must know how to handle a sword?”
Zoe: “I think he knows which end to hold.”

Anyone have the lyrics?

Edit - Got this from another post:

Take my love, take my land,
take me where I cannot stand.
I don't care, I'm still free.
You can't take the sky from me.
Take me out to the Black,
tell them I ain't comin' back.
Burn the land, boil the sea,
you can't take the sky from me.

Great words aren't they. They sound like what you might say after a World War. We've blown up the earth but, hey, I'm still alive and free in the black (of space), where 'I cannot stand' (no gravity); you can't take the sky from me. Humanity can't blow up the universe even if it blows itself up. So it's OK, there is hope. We're just a blip in the cosmos.

Or is that just me that sees that?

Actually, there is one more verse to it...

Ballad of Serenity
Written by Joss Whedon
Performed by Sonny Rhodes

Take my love, take my land
Take me where I cannot stand
I don't care, I'm still free
You can't take the sky from me

Take me out to the black
Tell them I ain't coming back
Burn the land and boil the sea
You can't take the sky from me

There's no place I can be
Since I found Serenity
But you can't take the sky from me

----------------------------------------------
“It's a real burn, being right so often.”

This has become one of my favorite songs. I have this song burned onto many different cd's that I take to work with me. Imagine a room with about 500 people visible, sitting at terminals typing (most wearing headphones) I like to sing it outloud when I'm typing away... I try to make my voice carry as far as possible on this song. (this is probably to the misfortune of everyone around me, cause I ain't no great singer) I am starting to sing hallelujah a lot too. People probably think I am crazy. I don't mind.
