KAYTHRYN

I noticed some threads going the way of “the thread that shall not be mentioned” and thought it was about time to post a bit of silliness.

Tons of little things remind me of firefly, but at the same time there are tons of little things that make me think of you browncoats. So, I was just wondering, what made you think of a browncoat today?

I’ll start...

Today I was driving on the freeway coming home from work when I was forced off of the road into the grass on the right by a speeding hearse that was driving in the middle of both lanes and I couldn’t help but think of the Wily character in Sarah’s Browncoat Chronicles-- that sounded like his kind of crazy.

Also, while driving, I found myself checking out every semi driver looking for Archer. Got a couple winks too.

Now it's your turn.

RUTHIE

Listening to the radio while driving yesterday, heard a programme called 'Vegetalk'. All about growing and cooking vegetables.
It being July 4th, they had the theme of American veg - including a recipe for Succotash.

Hehe.

Thinking about this site and Firefly, in turn, got me thinking about fellow Browncoats. In particular, how did we come by our aliases?

That, in turn, got me thinking about the different people I've chatted with here, and their websites (Yes, I've visited them.)

This makes me miss Archer, well, this and the fact that he's gone:

KING OF THE ROAD
Roger Miller

Trailers for sale or rent
Rooms to let...fifty cents.
No phone, no pool, no pets
I ain't got no cigarettes
Ah, but..two hours of pushin' broom
Buys an eight by twelve four-bit room
I'm a man of means by no means
King of the road.

Third boxcar, midnight train
Destination...Bangor, Maine.
Old worn out clothes and shoes,
I don't pay no union dues,
I smoke old stogies I have found
Short, but not too big around
I'm a man of means by no means
King of the road.

I know every engineer on every train
All of their children, and all of their names
And every handout in every town
And every lock that ain't locked
When no one's around.

I sing,
Trailers for sale or rent
Rooms to let, fifty cents
No phone, no pool, no pets
I ain't got no cigarettes
Ah, but, two hours of pushin' broom
Buys an eight by twelve four-bit room
I'm a man of means by no means
King of the road.

Come back soon Archer.

now now, take heart Mag, he ain't gone, he's just occupied. fella's gotta make a living, and sadly fan fic (well, writing in general) doesn't quite do that. not everybody can be JK Rowling...I know, sad but true. he said he'd be back in two weeks...clock's ticking.

every time a semi comes into my rear view mirror now, after my initial "AAH!" reaction of being tailgated, I wonder..."Archer, issat you?"

in honor of July 4th, I watched The Patriot on DVD. lamenting on how AB's character was simply following his own code of honor - however mis-directed - i couldn't wait to get here and write about it.

thanks for starting this thread, Kayt!

I found the way, by the sound of your voice--so many things to say.
