Does anyone read Paul Shirley's blog on ESPN? He was working on developing a comedy for FOX about the life of a basketball player. After making a pilot episode, Fox passed on the series. Here is what he said:

"If Fox had made the correct decision, and had "picked up" our show, they would have contracted us to shoot episodes beyond the one we made -- the pilot -- and would have aired them this fall. Then, our show -- "The 12th Man" -- would have gone on to moderate success in its first and second years before being run into the ground after a network decision to make it the anchor of Fox's new TGIM lineup."

He is almost right. I think it would have been more accurate that FOX would have aired the show, critics would love it, fans would become dedicated and FOX would move the show to Fridays at 10 (aka TV wasteland) or up against some other TV powerhouse like CSI or Lost. Welcome to the Land of Disappointment sponsored by FOX, Paul.
