Check out this site / Steven talks & reads from his Firefly novel....

From the site:
Submissions are still in a holding pattern with Pocket Books and Joss, for whatever reason, and the longer the delay the less chance we’ll ever get to read any new Serenity novels.

Except for one: Steven Brust’s, because he went and wrote his already and plans to get it out to the public one way or another.

I would love to have novels from the verse - why would they not try to see if the book will sell?

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

Novels would be a prime way to continue the 'verse. They're fairly cost-effective, I'm sure they would sell, and I just like books. I don't see why they wouldn't ever do it. I think the issue right now is that, since there hasn't been a greenlight of the sequel just yet and Joss is still holding out for it, he's not sure if a novel right now would work. If he's planning on picking up the story where he left off, where would that put someone else's story? I think we'll see more novels sometime in the future. Just, you know, not right now.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I just wish that someone would do something with the ruttin' 'verse instead of sitting here waiting.
