HIPPIEBROWNCOAT

Hey, All, first time poster here.

So, my boyfriend and i are constantly on the lookout for new browncoat recruits. He just bought the series on DVD. My question to you is, what episodes should we show? How many episodes? Any favorite episodes ya think really give a good view of a particular character, or situation, or should we hold off on showing any? (yes, of course i have my thoughts, but i want to hear yours, too.)

thanx

Oh, i am a tweaked one, yes i am.

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

All of them. In order, if possible. Then movie.
One of my faves is Out of Gas in terms of character introduction, but really, just start with the pilot and go from there. No need to muddy the waters. Fox did enough of that from the get-go.

One summer.
One mission.
One legion of Browncoats.

Starting June 23rd, we aim to misbehave.

EMBERS

I've always found that the pilot is the best to catch a new person's imagination...
and should always be first...
then the Train Job reinforces who all the characters are so that it should be second
then you'll find there are things like you need to have 'Our Mrs. Reynolds' before 'Trash' or the latter makes no sense.
And you have to see 'War Stories' after you've seen 'The Train Job' or you won't know who Niska was...

in other words, watching in order is a good thing.
Joss was creating a story arc for the season, and just because he wasn't able to complete it is no reason to ignore it.

So that is just a long winded way of saying:
show them in order... your friends will thank you!

edited to add: But the R.Tam Sessions should be viewed in order of release (which is out of order)

MALSTOLEMYHEART

I was recruited by my sister and her husband by watching the pilot episode (over a year ago now)

After seeing the pilot I borrowed their Firefly box set and was hooked. Within a week I had bought my own copy (they wanted theirs back).

For recruiting purposes of new Browncoats I think it's best to go in order (the way Joss wanted it). I've only successfully recruited a couple of friends but from talking with them they agree that it's best to watch all the episodes in order (and then the BDM).

Just thought I'd share my experience of being recruited and then recruiting more Browncoats. Good luck!

Mal: One of you is gonna fall and die. And I'm not cleaning it up.
