Terms and Conditions say this is open to UK residents only.

Every Easter Classic FM do a poll of the Top 300 pieces of classical music. The Firefly soundtrack has been in my CD player more than all my other CDs combined since it's release so I thought I ought to vote for Greg.

I've never heard Greg Edmonson on Classic FM but they do play film soundtracks and much of the Firefly soundtrack is classical style. It shouldn't take too many votes to get it in the Top 300 and get it played in the countdown over Easter. If it is in the chart they'll notice it and may play it throughout the year after that.

You can vote here:

My votes went to:

Vaughan Williams: Five Variants of Dives and Lazerus
Greg Edmonson: The Funeral (from the Firefly soundtrack)
Beethoven: Symphony No. 6 "Pastoral"

This is the only Firefly forum I post on - but feel free to spread word around the 'verse.

P.S. There's a draw for a £1000 prize for voting too.

Done.

As well as the Firefly funeral, I, continuing the morbid and creepifyin' theme, nominated:

Mozart's Masonic Funeral Music - The single most passionately charged piece of music ever;

and on the fascist side, Wagner with Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral from Lohengrin. Epic, and then some.

Depressing that Rachmaninov will walk it again.

You vote for a bunch of funeral pieces and then complain about Rachmaninov being depressing!?!?

I don't mind Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto winning it - it's pretty good. I almost voted for The Lark Ascending which might knock it off but Vaughan Williams has written lots of other good pieces that need more help!

Come on Greg Edmonson fans - he needs a few more votes if he's going to sneak in at 300.

Comes with the territory.

Supporting something utterly awesome, yet knowing the lowest common denominator will be voted No 1 for the 6th year in a row.

Strikes me that that other connoisseur of disappointment, Zathras's coat was kind of brown too.

If there are any vid makers out there, the Masonic would be a stunning accompaniment to clips from "Out of Gas".

Losing side...not necessarily the wrong one.
