Is it just my area, or is it impossible to find Firefly and Serenity books in bookstores??
I've gone to about 4 bookstores, looking for the Serenity novelization, and any other Firefly related book, and all I came up with was the Serenity Official Visual Guide(Which ROCKS btw)
Now, these aren't dinky little stores, mind you, I went to Barnes and Nobles, Borders, etc., and zilch!!
I ended up ordering from Amazon this evening, realizing I'm going to have to wait a few days, instead of the instant gratification of picking it up at a store.
Anyway, just curious if any of you folks have noticed this.

Huh, I was able to find one Serenity novel back in October, and now there are at least 3 at all times at my local Chapters store.

"I aim to misbehave."
"Can't do something smart, do something right".

HOMER: "Oh Lisa, you and your stories; Bart is a vampire, beer kills brain cells. Now lets go back to that... building thingy... where our beds and T.V.... is".

I had the same problem. I went to my local BN and asked at the desk. They had no idea what I was talking about and asked if I wanted to order it. I told them no thanks. I was fusterated. I promptly went home and bought not one Serenity item, but three off of Amazon.

You can't stop the signal!

You know why your bookstore has Serenity books. It is because someone at your bookstore realized the books would sell and keeps them in stock. And people buy the books off the shelves.

How did your bookstore know?

1. There could be a Browncoat there.
2. SOMEONE WENT TO THE INFORMATION DESK AND ORDERED THE BOOKS AND THEN THE BOOKSTORE REALIZED THE BOOKS WOULD SELL. And then people buy the books and then the store buys more. See it is a circle.

Amazon does not have shelves in bookstores.

Books:

Serenity by Keith R.A. DeCandido (novel based on the motion picture screenplay)
Finding Serenity Edited by Jane Espenson (essays about Firefly)
Serenity the Official Visual Companion
Serenity Role Playing Game -book not just for RPGers-
Serenity: Out in the Black by Tracy & Laura Hickman New RPG
Serenity: Those Left Behind the Graphic Novel.

I've had a bit of luck here and there. My biggest bit of luck was Borders. They're used to fen, (leastways the ones in Ann Arbor are anyway) as they were the only ones carrying a few some other stuff I'd previously hunted that was catagorized as SF. (Doctor Who and Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels to name a few.) If you haven't one nearby, they're online as well.

Good hunting!
