I was wondering how many Browncoats lived in Illinois..... (just wondering beside my point)
I convinced my friend to help me rent out a room in our public library so we can have a Firefly Extravaganza...
or rather a marathon showing of Firefly episodes... extravaganza sounds better than Marathon(sounds less painful and more like a Party).
^ ^ im So psyched!
We gona put my Firefly charcoal screen snaps all over the library so it'll be a gallery of Firefly and a marathon of watching Firefly..
But Im out of ideas on what i should do during the Extravaganza besides watching Firefly nonstop

Any one have ideas on how my friend and I should Pull Our Extravaganza off?
Like any ideas at all...?
Im not a Party Planer... in need of some help.

I'm not much of an event planner myself but perhaps if I had some more information. What kind of a crowd are you expecting? If mostly fans and you know somebody musically inclined you might want to do some filksinging.

If you can have food, serve sushi. Or perhaps strawberries.

Show at least one episode with commentary. I recommend War Stories.

Show the Adam Baldwin singing "Hero of Canton" Easter Egg.

Get folks to sing along with "The Ballad of Joss" or "Big Damn Trilogy."

Ask trivia questions between episodes, and give prizes to those who answer correctly.

Speak briefly about the need to keep spreading the Signal. Don't hammer it too hard, but point out that we all want a sequel some day.

And keep up the good work,

Cedric

Where is the "Hero of Canton" Easter Egg? What are the lyrics to the "Ballad of Joss" and "Big Damn Trilogy"? Are there any recordings of said songs that we may listen to so we can get a handle on the tune? Help a Browncoat out.

If anyone gets nosy...Shoot em.
Shoot em sir?
Politely.

If I remember correctly, the Easter Egg can be accessed by going to "Joss Sings the Firefly Theme" and clicking to the left. A section of filligree will be highlighted, and you can click on it to get the Easter Egg. That's my memory of it. However, a quick Google for Firefly Easter Egg will get you the directions.

The lyrics to both songs are in the Blue Sun Room, as well as on the Bedlam Bards website: www.BedlamBards.com

Links to free MP3s of those songs are also on that website. Or you can just buy the album.

No harm in giving yourself a plug Cedric. The whole album is great. I have to say "Leaf on the Wind" was especially well done.

Jock, I'm also in Illinois, but not much of a party go'er let alone a party planner. Where about's is this taking place, if it is near enough, I might swing by and lend some moral support that day?

Cedric had some real good suggestions, and if there is no buget for prizes, some color prints of your artwork that you have signed will do nicely.

Good Luck...it sounds like fun.
