CYBERSNARK

The "I believe" thread got me thinking that Savage Garden's "Affirmation" would make a great Firefly fanvid. Anyone with better skills and equipment than me care to give it a try?

I believe the sun should never set upon an argument.
(Mal & Zoe's argument as they leave atmo in the BDM, with the sunlight.)
I believe we place our happiness in other people's hands.
(Simon cradling River in "Serenity," or Mal catching River in "OiS.")
I believe that junk food tastes so good because it's bad for you.
(Kaylee's protein-cake for Simon.)
I believe your parents did the best job they knew how to do.
(Jayne proudly showing off his new hat.)
I believe that beauty magazines promote low self esteem.
(Quick glimpse of The Swan, or Fastlane, or any of the other glitzy semi-softcore that Fox replaced us with. Or possibly the Useless Girls in "Shindig")
I believe I'm loved when I'm completely by myself alone.
(Any shot of Mal, or Serenity, all alone in the black.)

I believe in Karma, what you give is what you get returned.
(Mal picking up River after the fight in the movie. River's pwning of the Reavers.)
I believe you can't appreciate real love 'til you've been burned.
("Real love" = Mal's face, seeing Serenity for the first time. "'til you've been burned" = Mal's face in Serenity Valley, when it all falls apart.)
I believe the grass is no more greener on the other side.
(Any shot of a rim world, juxtaposed with a core world.)
I believe you don't know what you've got until you say goodbye.
(Mal with the capture of Inara in the BDM.)

I believe you can't control or choose your sexuality.
(Inara and her clients.)
I believe that trust is more important than monogamy.
(Mal and Inara. Any scene, though I'd recommend sharing drinks in "Shindig.")
I believe your most attractive features are your heart and soul.
(Inara's first and only fully genuine smile, in the BDM.)
I believe that family is worth more than money or gold.
(The crew, versus Jayne looking for his reward.)
I believe the struggle for financial freedom is unfair.
(Mal returning Niska's money, or or any impoverished rim world.)
I believe the only ones who'd disagree are millionaires.
(Niska, with his fine suit and Tiffany lamp.)

I believe in Karma, what you give is what you get returned.
(Dobson holding a gun on River, then getting shot by Mal.)
I believe you can't appreciate real love 'til you've been burned.
(Shepherd Book, serene and gentle, versus his "I don't give half a hump if you're innocent or not!" face.)
I believe the grass is no more greener on the other side.
(Miranda, beautiful, civilized, and dead).
I believe you don't know what you've got until you say goodbye.
(Mal kissing his cross in the Valley, then realizing "none of it means a damn thing.")

I believe forgiveness is the key to all unhappiness.
(Inara consoling the Shepherd in "Serenity.")
I believe that wedded bliss negates the need to be undressed.
(Wash and Zoe cuddling in OMR.)
I believe that God does not endorse TV evangelists.
(The "witch-burning" nutcases in "Safe.")
I believe in love surviving death into eternity.
(Wash's grave, Zoe shedding tears.)

I believe in Karma what you give is what you get returned.
(The Reaver fleet, bearing down on the Operative's battlegroup.)
I believe you can't appreciate real love 'til you've been burned.
(Mal & Inara, versus Mal/Nandi, and Inara's crying.)
I believe the grass is no more greener on the other side.
(The Companion Training House, versus Serenity's corridors --or Inara's room at the TH versus her shuttle.)
I believe you don't know what you've got until you say goodbye.
(Simon in the core, with his wealthy parents and promising career, then out on the edge, with his sister, and his family.)

Yeah, that's a good one. FF/S has many moods.

Here's a FF pilot episode music video, using the "Thief" movie soundtrack ("Confrontation"), when James Cahn wages a home invasion on the mob boss:
