This may have been covered in a previous thread but because the search function in this discussion board isn't very "intuitive" I thought I'd ask this question.

I've been giving some idle thought to building a full working replica of the Mule as I could use a utility vehicle like this on my property. It is hard for me to tell from watching the DVDs what the base vehicle is (some sort of ATV or a John Deere Gator?). All the "kafatka" attached to it looks like it would be relatively easy to replicate with careful study. I do got some weldin' experience and a penchant for recyclin' stuff (dumpster diving anyone?)

So, here's the question... anyone out there have details on who built this prop and other details that could be helpful in this endeavor?

BTW, my "dream vehicle" would be the original Chariot from Lost in Space which, I believe, is still sitting in some guy's backyard in California (sigh!)

I assume you mean the original mule from Firefly, not the one from Serenity. The toughest part of that one would be the hover motors...

Unfortunately I don't know anything about 4-wheelers so all I can offer is wisecracks such as the above.
