I want to be able to rip my Firefly DVDs to my laptop so that I can watch them on the go without having to bring the DVDs along. I'm not exactly big on all of this stuff so I don't really know of any good programs to use. Are there any free programs I can use that will allow me to copy my DVDs to my computer in good quality? I want them to be pretty descent quality. Does anyone know how I can do this? It would be nice.

You can download all the episodes in RM format right here. Smaller file size than if you ripped 'em. Maybe not the quality you were looking for.

If you really want to rip 'em, you could use DVD Shrink to rip the entire DVD to your HDD (assuming you have the disk space) then run it with VLC player.

Either way, best of luck, and don't do anything I wouldn't do!

If you own a Mac, get the program "Mac the Ripper". It rips the entire DVD off of the disc and places it squarely in one of your folders.

You will need to open your DVD Player, and select "Open Media" and choose what you want to watch in order for it to work though.

Lots there. If you rip the DVD to the HDD and then encode it to an AVI using a codecs like xvid or divx you'll get really good quality for reasonable file sizes.

More insane ramblings by the people who brought you beeeer milkshakes!

On a Mac, if you haven't the space for MacTheRipper output, try ripping the DVD with Handbrake. Each episode will be an mp4 file, about 3-400mb.
