Our favorite show won a VES (Visual Effects Society) award on February 19th for Best Visual Effects in a Television Series.

It was for the "Serenity" pilot by Emile Smith, Rocco Passionino, Loni Peristere, Kristen Branan

Firefly beat out Enterprise ("Shockwave, Part 1") and Dinotopia ("Marooned & Making Good").
The pilot was up for another award for Best Compositing in a Televised Program, Music Video, or Commercial, but they lost that one to Dinotopia.

Here's the official VES site for more details, http://www.visualeffectssociety.com/

After reading this, I realized that if I had to find one tiny, miniscule, microscopically small good thing about Firefly being cancelled it's the fact that we won't have to sit and watch it being snubbed by the Emmy's again...and again...and again... *Sigh* I miss this show.
