New here and first post so sorry if its in the wrong place.

Just leafing through my latest Empire magazine UK's Jan edition and Serenity has been placed at number 10 in their top 25 movies for 2005.

Now im a new convert having seen the film then gone on to buy the box set. But Im now an iron clad fan and cant belive that the film hasn't done better at the box office.I certainly can't see how it was placed bellow Revenge of the Sith at number 4 ( Lucas you suck!!! ) and thats from an OT devotee.

However I will quote the entry they made about the film as I think it hits the nail on the head.

'While J.J. Abrams is groomed as the movie worlds answer to Microsoft , his more talented television peer Joss Whedon seems content to be entertainment’s Apple. Creating innovative products that inspire unrivalled ardour among followers but (iPod apart) fail to crack the mass market.Case in point: Serenity a leaf on the box office wind that charmed almost everyone who saw it, yet failed to soar. That Whedon could fashion a Firefly resurrection that satisfied die hard Brown Coats and freshman alike is testament to his talent. That he chose this tricky and potentially thankless task as his movie debut while Abrams cosied up to Cruise is evidence that he might be too darn nice for Hollywood.'

Amen to that... the only hope for a Serenity resurrection now is DVD sales , a message to all then GO OUT AND BUY THE DARN DVD FOR CRIMBO!! THE SIGNAL MUST GO ON!!

I think almost all OT devotee have converted to fireflism.

As for the prequels, Lucas should of been more ruthless to get what he wanted from the actors. For me it was all down to communication break down.

Anyone who mentions Shakespeare will get a .50 in their ass

Im more a 9mm man myself , I'll take amount of rounds over stopping power anyday. But back to the topic at hand.

I think perhaps Lucas was ruthless enough. From what I see of the prequels. Its his directing style which murdered them. Where as Joss has both the vision and the directing skill to make his vision come alive. Lucas has the vision but no directing skills what so ever.

As Jonathan Ross and others have stated , Serenity is what RotS should have been. Lucas took his anal retentive style of directing way too far and choked any joy or love from the films. Just watch the easter egg of him directing Hayden on the DVD. I hated his portrayal of Anakin but now I pity him.

Lets hope against hope that Joss gets another shot , he could so teach George 'mega bucks' Lucas a thing or two about where he lost his soul.
