I recently read that Serenity didnt work because it was only geared toward the cult following, well I have to vigorously disagree. As of two weeks ago I have become a hopelessly obsessed Firefly junky. I saw the flick two days later I was the proud owner of the complete series dvds (which I had to hit 4 stores before at the final the guy was shocked he had a set left). Now I quote and cuss freely in the speak of our favorite 'verse...and explain to confused recipiants of the verbal barrage that if they would like to know what gorram means they're gonna need to sit down and watch a certain set of dvds. When its all said and done the movie works because it introduced a new standard for what a sci fi flick should be...one that space is actually a soundless vacume and people still wear t shirts and pants not spandex unitards.I've said my peace and will step of my rudding soapbox
