Fox is apparently in good company. imdb.com has a brief comment that may explain why Firefly is a 'no' and Farscape is on the way out. They're pandering to the lowest-common denominator....

Marvel To Produce Superhero Series for Sci Fi Channel
Continuing to operate on the apparent hypothesis that its comic book franchise may be worth far more than the comic books themselves, Marvel Entertainment reportedly is forming a "longterm relationship" with the Sci Fi Channel for a series of shows based on Marvel superheroes, the online edition of TV Guide reported Thursday. With Marvel's licensing division now accounting for a significantly greater percentage of earnings than its publishing unit, the company has already hammered out deals for Sci Fi Channel pilots based on Marvel's Brother Voodoo and Strikeforce: Morituri. Sci Fi network president Bonnie Hammer told TV Guide Online: "We've gone through the whole [Marvel] library and are looking at several properties." Marvel, which has raked in huge profits from merchandise sales and a percentage of the box office and home video revenue for last year's Spider-Man, is also expected to clean up when Daredevil, starring Ben Affleck, is released on Feb. 14. Also on tap is the X-Men sequel, X2, due to be released on May 2, and The Hulk, due out on June 20.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

*Sighs*

Soon TV will not be worth even turning on the set. Guess society has theirselves to blame for watching such garbage and not speaking out against it sooner. Networks will continue to crank out carbon copies of the same mindless shows so long as they pull in the ratings they are looking for.
