Even though the possibility of Firefly returing to FOX with any repeats or the first-run of the new episodes is unlikely (maybe the net will find a summer spot to fill in between American Idol and Man Vs. Beast Five), it is amazing that the Firefly link is still under the FOX shows' listing. It's either laziness to add the show to the FOX vault, where Dark Angel's and Ally McBeal's old webpages are, or there may be some hope. ABC drops their cancel series links the next day after the last episode. Look for Dinotopia.

Take this with a grain of salt I have no idea wher I saw this but apparently our local Fox affiliates will be able to decide if they want to show the firefly episodes or not at some point this summer. (I presume that these are the unaired ones, but hope for all.)

I will try to find you a link but wont promise anything write now.

OK now for personal thought idea, they will probably air late night or saturday and sunday like a syndicated program but will have a verry short life. I am thinking that after the summer re runs they will put out the DVD Im not sure just my speculation and hope.

If Fox airs the episodes, it will be in primetime (Weekdays and Saturday at 8-10pm est/pst, or Sunday at 7-10pm est/pst). The Fox Network dosn't program in other time slots, like Sunday at midnight, excluding sports on weekends. There's a possibility that Fox will ask the Fx Network to air them instead. It really depends on what Fox has in mind for summer programming.

I asked our FOX affiliate about it, showing reruns of Firefly and the last 3 episodes like in the summer, and surprisingly enough I did get a reply from their programming director.

They said the Firefly program was cancelled and since it was cancelled, would not be aired by them. I then asked why they were doing reruns of cancelled series like Darhma & Greg (worthless sitcom), M*A*S*H, Seinfeld, Cheers, and 3rd Rock. The affiliate's response was those shows were what their viewing demographic wanted to see and that Firefly hadn't run long enough to achieve the established market status necessary to consider it for reruns.

M*A*S*H, Cheers, Seinfeld, etc. are in off-network syndication. The Fox affiliate purchased those shows. As for Firefly, the affiliate has no control on what the Fox Network airs (the station does have the option to pre-empt) or takes off. If the Fox Network puts FF back on the schedule, the affiliate stations across the nation would air the program.
