Alright, not sure this is the place to post this as I am pretty fresh to this site, but wanted to tell people about it. I'm a big fan of firefly (clearly) and created a music video to Nickelback's Savin' Me using clips from Firefly. It's only a first attempt and will be reworked soon, but I am interested in some feedback. If you want to check it out, visit http://watcher07.vidilife.com/ Thanks.

Mal: Kaylee, what the hell's going on in the engine room? Were there monkeys? Some terrifying space monkeys maybe got loose?

Any place I can download 'em (Fett's Vette looks interesting too).

The machine I'm on can't play media (or games, or anything ) and doesn't take streams anyway.

That was pretty good and thank you for putting it in a place where complete computer idiots like myself can click on an icon or link and just watch it. Most of the time I get so frustrated because I read everyone's replie to new videos "awesome" "great" etc, and all I can think is how in the hell did you guys access it!

Well, I recently discovered the google has unlimited video hosting. Thus far I think that will be the place that I will store the highest quality copy of the video. I just got done revamping the end and working out some of the in video kinks (transitions and such) and think it looks alot better. I'd be happy to move some of my videos to a place and give you addresses to download them. Again, google looks most likely but I will post here when its official and done. Thanks to everyone for the input, and for the welcome aboard. I don't want to disappoint the Firefly community by putting out crap, so I'm open to comments and suggestions. Thanks again.

Well the plan is to do several music videos using Firefly with a wide range of music. I have very eclectic tastes and can see a couple country songs working in somewhere, some classical here and there, rock, and anything else that may inspire me. The next video will again be Nickelback because of another great song they have on that same cd, and it was recently suggested to me that I do a video on the Firefly theme song, so that will probably be the third one. We'll see what happens though. Still looking for a place to host videos for download, I may just end up cracking the code to the servers and hooking you up with an addy that way. The third rendition of this video should get posted up here in about an hour, I made it work a little easier, transition a little better, and overall just smoothed out some rough edges. Thanks for the comments.

I have a page on multiply I am using to host a pretty good quality version of the video if you are interested. Go to http://watcher07.multiply.com/video I found that it will download the video there, won't stream it. Also the fett's vette can be downloaded from http://www.windspireentertainment.com/download.php?view.15

Hope this helps ya out. I'm starting on a new video, once again using Nickelback, the song Far Away from All the Right Reasons cd. In my head I see it focusing on the relationship between Kaylee and Simon, but it could end up going a different direction if I can't create enough good footage for the video. Any other ideas anyone has for a video and accompanying soundtrack is more than welcome. A future plan is to use (potentially) Black Sabbath's Changes song set to a death scene type of video, in specific a main clip will be the coffin scene we're all familiar with. Thanks for tuning in and the feedback.

I just got that CD Tuesday and all I could think was that those two songs fit with Firefly/Serenity so much! Thank you!

Awesome work!

Thanks for the....thanks. I actually just got a new digital video editing program so I might rework a few pieces of that video and get it to transition a little better, but overall I am very happy with how it turned out. It was recommended to me to do a song using Godsmack's Serenity, which I think would be a great idea. And I also thought that it would be cool to give Jayne a good themesong, so I am scouring through my music collection for something fitting him, more on that later. If anyone is curious and perhaps wants to start trying their own hand at some stuff like this, here's a quick breakdown of what you should get.

DVD Shrink (Freeware) http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_shrin
k.cfm

Jet Audio (Demo version should work just fine for most people, only converts 30 seconds of clip).
http://www.cowonamerica.com/download/
Note that it is also a superb media player of all types.

Windows Movie Maker (standard on pc's)

You can rip individual clips (down to the frame of your choosing) with DVD Shrink. It will save the files to MPEG format. You then convert the file to .wmv with Jet Audio, again, it will only do 30 second clips unless you get the full version. After that, place your completed clips into windows movie maker in timeline format. Import your .mp3 or whatever, do some transitions and timing changes, and voila, save your new video to your comp. Have fun.
