I heard recently that the Tony Awards will begin honoring performers who take over from original cast members. This means Alan could be nominated next year for his work in "Spamalot"! This got me thinking about next year's MTV Movie Awards. Here are my "Serenity" nominations:

Best Villain: The Operative or maybe the Reavers
Best Fight: several options: River v the Maidenhead patrons; River v the Reavers; Mal v The Operative
Best Breakout Performance: Summer Glau
Best Male Performance: Nathan Fillion
Best Female Performance: Summer Glau
Best Action Sequence: again several: Reavers Chasing the Mule; Alliance/Reaver space battle; Serenity Crash Landing
Best Ensemble: Serenity Crew
Best On-Screen Duo: Nathan Fillion and Adam Baldwin
Best Movie: Duh!

Sadly, I don't think we have a nominee for Best Kiss. It was nice that Simon and Kaylee finally did, but there was no real oomph to it.
