This is something that I think has to be brought up. Hurricane Katrina has devastated the Gulf and has made millions homeless and jobless. It has also put an enormous strain on our oil refining. On top of that, the current news is reporting that it may be months before they can even get the electricity back up in many places along the Gulf.

Thus the question I think we should confront is that Katrina could really hurt Serenity. I don't think many people in that region of the US will be going to movies come September 30th and with rising oil prices will come rising prices on everything essential from food to rent. So many people throughout the country will not be able to have the luxury to go to see a movie once nonetheless twice when it opens.

What do others think about this? I also have another suggestion in that what if we can convince Universal to donate so much of Serenity's profits to disaster relief in Katrina ravaged coast? It could bring people in that would have otherwise have stayed out knowing that at least some of their money is going to something good. Also, if we are not able to convince Universal of this idea than maybe we Browncoats as a community can organize something such as food drives and raising money for charities? Or do both?

Oh, and play Cantr II at www.cantr.net.
