now, this wouldn't be a true gorilla marketing technique since it's not advertising the show to the uninitiated as much as it is showing appreciation.
The idea came from a post I read on another Firefly fansite, it basically said that if someone could get a list of advertisers that have commercials during the Firefly broadcasts on SciFi channel, we could just email a quick thank you note to those advertisers. Now here's the thing, I know that those advertisers don't even realize what show their commercials are running during most of the time...they just pay for a certain amount of time-slots and get what they're handed. However, if ENOUGH fans drop a 2 sentence email basically saying "Thanks for supporting Firefly, Joss Whedon and the SciFi channel"...then SOMEONE will take notice and possibly realize that this Firefly thing could be a nice little cash-cow.
So...does anyone have the airings taped or Tivo-ed that we can get a list of advertisers to email?
