MSN Firefly Chat?

I am just curious as to who would be interested in a live chatroom about all that is Firefly on MSN. Mostly for those who either dont like or have issues with other chat systems (ie. Yahoo Chat, AIM/AOL, etc)

If there is enough interest generated, I'll set one up (I'll be owner with the gold hammer) and it could be open as long as people are in the room (even if I'm gone). Now I'll have to figure out who will be hosts/moderators (brown hammers) to get rid of trolls (and if I'm not avail to open if the room isnt there, one of these people will).

so if you're interested in either being able to do some live chatting about Firefly on MSN, please post here. Also post here if you want to be a host/moderator to help out.

I would just like to point out that there is a perfectly good fireflyfans IRC server set up by the legendary Haken...

It can be found at irc.fireflyfans.net the #firefly chat room seems the most active.

You can also enter it (if you don't have or want a IRC client) via your browser so long as it is java enabled. (sorry lynx users :))

Hiya.
As Hook said there is already a chat set up. If you dont want to chat via the site you can use mIRC (which is simple to use)

There are a few of us that are around a lot. lol and I think its fun

so grab your friends and come chat cause I need more people to talk to.

as I stated earlier:

That little etc. normally means to encompass everything else not mentioned.

This was not meant to bash on anything Haken has set up because he has done a mighty fine job! I do applaud him. This was meant as an alternative is all.

If there is not enough interest generated on here or over on the Fox Firefly board, I just will not create it.

Haken, if you feel offended at this, please let me know.

Likes to mess with stuffs.

It's cool. I have no problem with it. Besides, FIREFLYFANS.NET was never meant to be the "it" place for Firefly. It's supposed to be a place where a few friends who happens to like Firefly can hangout and call home. The site reflects this mentality and so does our chat.

Besides, while Firefly is listed as the topic of conversation, most of the time we just talk about everything else.

Anyway, I wish you luck with the chat. And if there's something I can help you with, just let me know.

I'd be interested in an msn chat. The other chat systems don't seem to work for me. How do you enable Java? I downloaded mIRC and visited a couple of chatrooms (they were mostly for episode downloads), but I couldn't find the Firefly chat one (how do you search?) and was pretty clueless about how to do anything there.

So I'd be very happy to have a chat on msn. :)

that is the little community site that houses the rules and regulations as well as a list of approved moderators/hosts. Check it out, join, post in the suggestion box. I know its bare bones, but I just whipped it up.

The MSN chatroom itself will be named just Firefly (for now, maybe we'll think of something better) and will be under the Entertainment category. It will probably be floating around page 2, sometimes 3. Dont worry if its not open 24/7 right now, the list of available hosts is short right now and as it gets longer, the room will be open more.

I am the owner and Ms Peel is the only other host listed right now.

I'll also post that link to the community in my profile.

Yo yo yo!
Here's the deal: I have decided to create a SPECIAL chat on MSN for Friday. It is the one that I have been reserving for the Scheduled chats with specific topics. Well I think the airing of the pilot (finally!) is a special enough of a topic.

How will you find this room, you ask? it is a PRIVATE room that will not be listed in the MSN chat directory. it can ONLY be found by visiting the COMMUNITY at http://groups.msn.com/FireflyChatters and once there CLICK ON the link that says CHAT in the left hand menu. Got it?

Since it will be in my humble community, you MUST BE A MEMBER of it BEFORE FRIDAY! I know, thats the only drawback, but think about it...it will be troll free! That room will be open just about all day on Friday (lets say from Noon-ish on Pacific time) because everyone's in different time zones. Even if I'm gone, it will still be open. I will close it later Friday night (lets say 11 pm-ish PST) and the room will disappear until further notice.

Remember: if you're not already a member, join before Friday at Noon PST so you'll be able to get in!

Also, I will be opening the public room on MSN about my regular time that night (9:30 pm-ish PST) as well.
