If Joss gets the directing gig for X3, I wouldn't put it past him to touch up (or rewrite) the script if he found any problems with it.

Joss just had this great experience of bringing his own vision (creative vision of his characters in his story with his direction) to the screen, and Universal stayed out of it, without watching over his shoulder and making suggestions.
It was the best experience he ever had (cause I know the networks interfered all the time w/BtVS, Ats, and particularly Firefly!).

So why would he want to be involved w/the X-men franchise, where he would have all kinds of studio heads, producers, and other suits leaning over his shoulder? And he would be stuck with the already cast characters whether he likes it or not....

No, I would really rather Joss stick to his own work, creating his own universes...
