I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

The situation is ripe for another GFC: Regional banks have been tottering under the combined problem of low yield, long term investments while needing to offer higher pct to attract capital. Investment banks OTOH are facing a collapse of consumer credit and consumer spending (along with an avalanche of reactivated student loans) leading to the failure of various nonbank lenders (which the banks have been funding).

Also, there is a serious stock market AI/ tech bubble.

It feels like we've been here before.

There are two mitigating factors: since GFC v1.0, banks are required to have higher reserves (and major banks are buying gold, they say) and

The Fed is lowering interest rates, making rolling debt over less costly. Thanks to the EU's ideologically self-induced collapse and the Euro's relative weakness, the dollar is gaining strength relatively, making Treasury issuance cheaper.

UBS Liquidates Funds, Faces $500 Million Exposure To First Brands Fracas

Thursday, Nov 06, 2025 - 11:20 AM

Having already followed Deutsche Bank into the risk-transfer business, hedging its exposure to its own deals (UBS Group's asset management unit is working on a new fund that will invest in significant risk transfers, which could include deals issued by itself), the big Swiss bank, The Financial Times reports that UBS has told clients that it will wind down an investment vehicle with significant debt exposure to First Brands Group, in the first major fund liquidation following the US auto parts maker’s shock bankruptcy.

As we detailed previously, UBS O'Connor: the once iconic hedge fund associated with the only major Swiss bank left standing after the Credit Suisse collapse, has 30% [!!!] of its portfolio tied to First Brands, leaving Switzerland’s largest bank grappling with a bankruptcy that has convulsed global finance.

I used to have an account at UBS, had a great broker that got me into some hot deals. Sorry to see this happening.

Elon Musk a nd Dodge cut only 1 Trillion he needed to cut more, but the native impact increases and now every 100 days another Trillion in the red

the Fires alone in LA and California, exposure is at $458 BILLION

Musk already warned ‘America is going bankrupt’ as interest payments on US debt ate up 76% of June’s income tax revenue

Can't blame capitalism for that.
Of course I can. And I do.

If you were to read the article, you'd find that the company owner was all about turning those peanuts on the floor into money. That was his big concern, and his ONLY concern. Because companies that make high profits get to grab more market share and buy up other companies.

It's not that this guy was a "bad guy". It's that companies get no joy out of following the rules IF IT COSTS THEM MONEY because they will lose profits anf market share. Because companies that lie, cheat, and steal WILL out-compete companies that don't. Because in the end what really counts... under captailism... is survival of the most brutal and the most rapacious.

It has nothing to do with human nature. You could be the nicest guy in the world. Pay your workers a living wage, take that extra buck and reduce pollution, get involved in your community.... and you'll eventually be overwhelmed by the most noxious companies around. That's capitalism!

And make sure that when you vote you vote for guys like Trump comrade. This way you can be a part of destroying everything. Your voting for Trump twice now, shows us all you do is complain because America is not Russia.
