I think they are holding it back a little and dumbing it down a tiny bit, I have seen better deep fake voices and faces on politicians.

although it was actually kinda scary how good it was at making an immitation and mockery of famous film director style. AI showing what if James Cameron directed, what if Michael Bay directed, what if Wes Anderson directed.

I wasn't using these as GOOD examples. Just silly, politically relevant ones.

These are videos that any dildo without any talent other than having tinkered around with these AI programs online can make. Or the Family Guy manatees from South Park with the Idea Balls.

In other words, these are the tools available to the general public in 2023.

They didn't just give us these tools the second they were working. How long have they been working? How much more advanced are they then the best AI generated video available on YouTube?

Where did that AI Is Scary thread?

Been hearing lately about AI Psychics.

This is interesting. It might help separate all of the frauds from the actual psychics, mediums, ghost talkers, etc.
Obviously, all of the AI units are not actually psychic, so they are only learning how to imitate the actual gifted paranormals, and this might help to differentiate them, thereby revealing the actual real deals (who want to be recognized or identified).

Who watches the "Experts"?

We're already past the point of ever being able to believe anything you see on TV anymore. And there is zero reason why anybody should trust any human being who is going to tell you that they're going to combat "misinformation". And because AI is man-made, there is no reason to ever trust AI to handle that either.

And now that this has happened, there is no way to reverse that short of putting in the world code and sending us all back to the middle ages.

It is a character that almost no human being is aware of, let alone makes any use of. In modern word processors, the way that you would make them is simply typing 3 dashes in a row with a space. Not an impossibility, so you will see it sometimes done by humans by accident, especially if you've got a monkey behind the keyboard.

But A.I. uses them ALL THE TIME.

I'm SURE that they're working on fixing that, because their end goal is to make AI work indistinguishable from high-level human work. But had I used AI to power a lot of my work, it would be riddled with 3-em-dashes everywhere and anyone who knew anything would know that I didn't do a lot of the work myself.

I don't even have a smart phone man. I have nothing in my house that will listen in and relay anything I say to a server to be warehoused for god knows what nefarious purposes.

I probably don't have more than a few decades left in me if I'm lucky, and I'll be spending all of that time making sure that I come into as little contact with A.I. as possible.

Nope.

AI has still not convinced me there is a need for a Smart Phone in the first place.

I would rate the Smart Phone fairly highly on the Top 10 worst inventions man ever created and would be much better off if it were never invented.

It's higher than Teflon. It's higher than leaded gasoline.

It's probably lower than most of the diseases they haven't yet "accidentally" released from the Wuhan Lab.
