Anyway, as far as I can tell, there are ZERO constitutional protections from private entities requiring 'vaccination passports' to enter or use their facilities ... or potentially as an employment requirement.

While the federal program seems to have been in the works for quite some time (as far back as Trump), and certainly the NYS effort has been long ongoing, the main drive seems to be from corporations and businesses.

So, as I've also posted elsewhere, I hope there's significant political pushback on this, because it seems like the only avenue to derail ever-increasing corporate control over our private lives.

At least some of our leaders are still defending the basic human rights that we've all been told in school that Americans are born with.

It's always expected that some slaves love being told what to do, especially if they're told that it's for their own good, but to see how many people are willingly allowing this to take place without even a hint of annoyance because they want to feel safe, I'm beginning to question if simply being born here should be the only qualification to benefit from those rights going forward.

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

If only the vaccinated can go to certain venues, there should be a corresponding medical exemption for people who CAN'T be vaccinated (bc of previous severe allergic reaction to shots for example.) If the medically-exempted are in a population of vaccinated people, they should be safe(r) than before.

The alternative is to make the non-vaccinated wear a properly-fitting N95, which is the only other effective protection against spreading or catching the disease.

So KIKI I have a practical question about the unvaccinated.

I know that "they" aren't vaccinating people who've previously had Covid-19.

I assume that this is simply to stretch the number of doses to the most vulnerable people.

But aren't people who've been infected just as safe as people who've been vaccinated? If so, how can these people prove that they're safe to be around if they've been infected but denied a vaccine?

What do they do? Lie, and say they've never had Covid, just to get a vaccine?

natural infection
• • How complete is immunity after naturally acquired infection? Some strains of COVID-19 seem to be resistant to the antibodies made against other strains.
• • How long does antibody-mediated immunity last after infection?
• • How long does cell-mediated immunity last after infection?

vaccination
• • How complete is immunity after vaccination? Some strains of COVID-19 seem to be resistant to the antibodies made against other strains.
• • How long does antibody-mediated immunity last after vaccination?
• • How long does cell-mediated immunity last after vaccination?

comparison
• • How do the 2 different types of immunity compare?

As I've gathered so far ...

There's some indication that vaccination provides a stronger and more complete antibody-based protection against new strains than naturally occurring infection. I THINK that might be because vaccines target the spike protein, whereas during a naturally occurring infection one makes antibodies to everything. But like all facts, this one is ephemeral, as new information comes along.

As for how long immunity lasts, either from infection or vaccination, nobody knows for sure. I'd think that there should have been a few studies by now - of people who were infected during the first and second wave, and whether or not they were more, less, or equally likely - statistically speaking - to reacquire infection.

But I haven't done any digging. At this point, looking for COVID-19 information is more than a full-time job. It would take a literal team doing nothing else to keep track of all the publications. So other than doing a quick duck.. and/ or gibiru search under 'news' to look up specific question, I kind of wait for information to come to me.

I guess, given all of the unknowns surrounding the protection afforded by the vaccine and/or natural infection, it's way too premature to start requiring a vaccine-passport. The current round of infections/vaccinations may be made moot by the next strain of the virus, anyway.

But as KIKI has pointed out, business can do what business can do, unless a governmental body steps in and prohibits it.

EDITED TO ADD: But, on further consideration ... where contact is involuntary and/or mandated by law, the person that people need to see should be REQUIRED to be vaccinated. For example, if in-person school is opened up (and there are truancy laws enforcing attendance) teachers and aides certainly should be required to be vaccinated. AFA student being required to be vaccinated ... there is a lot I don't know about the possibility of children being able to transmit the virus asymptomatically. It was a big concern, but tha latest I heard was that it was a misplaced one.

DMV clerks, doctors and other healthcare workers (especially the clerks who screen people and check people in!), first responders, and others with whom contact is mandated by law or involuntary must also be vaccinated.

Yanno, since the animal reservoir for Covid-19 is fairly limited, it should be possible to wipe it off the face of the earth, like smallpox. The trick would be to stamp it out before it gets achance to mutate into something that the latest vaccine doesn't work against.

Some of you are aware I was very sick at the end of Nov 2019. I was the most sick I've ever been, lost over 20 pounds. I thought it was food poisoning, just worse than prior times.
Around May 2020 I heard somebody mention that they had the same symptoms and experience I had, which were nothing like the descriptions for Covid, and he had tested positive for Covid.
I later realized that another set of symptoms, which actually followed the original illness period, were probably Rheumatoid Arthritis - which I had attributed to a mega reaction to BGH from a dairy product I had not tried before - the symptoms were similar but worse than prior reactions I normally have to BGH. I had actually feared I had physically injured my joints, possibly tore some joint cartilage.
Some may recall that HCQ was effective for Covid, and had a history of treatment for RA.

In the week after Christmas 2020, I went to our company Christmas Dinner, seating 8 at the table. I have coughed, sneezed, sinus congested and drained every day of my life, and I diverted such at this dinner, on Tuesday night. The next Sunday night I had to vomit, and had some diarrhea, and I thought I had food poisoning. Within a few days, 3 of those at our table had tested positive for Covid, and then a 4th within another week, so they assumed I had it also. This time, I had it much more mild, was ready to return to work within a couple days, was not nearly as incapacitated, and might have lost a few pounds.

I'm not sure if this helps your discussion.

FYI, the way that I resolved the RA symptoms (which I did not realize at the time) was by taking one bottle of Boost each day. The nutrient drink, full of vitamins and minerals. Also, I have been saying for years that Boost was still the same product as the prior name. When they switched the name to Boost, and then when it was bought up by Nestle, the formulation was the same, as evidenced by the list of identical ingredients and the identical proportions of USRDA for nutrients. I recall that when they switched to Stevia, the remainder of the formulation seemed the same. But now I see that the formula has had drastic changes, for the first time since 1984. The ingredient list might be the same, not sure - but the USRDA table is vastly different. Nutrients that previously had 25% USRDA are now varied from 5% up to 40%.
