Nice story.

Not real sure why you felt the need to 'pity' me, but, that's a YOU thing.

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

A lot of people pity you, rappy. More than you apparently have been keeping track of. Hell, even Geezer steps in to save you from yourself once in a while! Either that, or they're laughing at you. Or both. Your batting average in RWE is pretty poor. Might want to re-think your strategy.

Don't have or want a 'strategy', Sig. I am who I am. Don't like the facts ? Just keep walking. Bothers me not 1 iota.

Because it's pityable that you spend an inordinate amount of time atention seeking on a poorly attended RWED board in a quiet backwater of the internet.
Even I, the preverbial homebird, think that there must be something more constructive and meaningfull you could be doing with your time, and I feel realy sorry for you that your life has become this bitter, pointless, petty little thing.

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

I ignore PN most of the time; he's just so completely wrapped up in his warped world, and apparently he posts the same stuff on numerous websites, and possibly even makes money off doing so, so yes, I pity him.

But Sig, A.U.'s strategy works just FINE, thank you. Stay away a couple of days, come back and scroll through the threads--all he does is make outrageous, obviously absurd statements. Preferably as far out in left field as he can imagine, and SOMEONE is sure to take the bait, and away it goes. Thread after thread, that's all it is; Alt.Univ. making incredible, biased-as-hell statements which don't hold up, people arguing with him, him making even further out statements and being dissmissive of others, which only triggers more responses.

Until eough people GET THIS, this place will continue to be a stage for him more than anything else. Just argument after argument between Alt.Univ. and someone or some others. It's why I spend SO much less time here than I used to; took me ages and ages to catch on, but eventually I did.

It's been asked before and I'll ask it again: What would happen if NOBODY took the bait, even for a little while? It's been like this since I got here, and I assume it'll never change, because apparently he has nothing else to do but troll for attention by the hour here. Humans don't usually do things unless they get something out of it, so the only logical conclusion is you guys get something out of taking the lure.

Which leaves me to pity his responders along with him. That he's so pitiful he needs this attention so badly is only slightly more pitiful than those who respond for some reason needing to give him the attention.

Ah, I see OldEng popped in to say pretty much the same thing. Yup.

How much time SHOULD I spend then? What would be an 'ordinate' amount ?

At least I'm discussing actual issues, REAL WORLD EVENTS, and not being so petty as to start an entire thread which does nothing but mock and insult someone else.

"Mock" and "Insult" are words you have introduced to seek attention.
Perhaps you should seek actual counceling rather than relying on the this board for your labido-enhancements.
Niki is quite correct in her posts and so I will say no more to you but leave you with the inevitable last word, I'm sure it will be worth waiting for.

"labido-enhancements" Oh, my, OldEng, I shall HAVE to remember that one (except I think it's "libido")! Thanx for the good words, I don't think I'm saying anything the vast majority f us already know, but what the hey...

Pretty much.

"It's been asked before and I'll ask it again: What would happen if NOBODY took the bait, even for a little while? It's been like this since I got here, and I assume it'll never change, because apparently he has nothing else to do but troll for attention by the hour here."

I tend to think of Kwicko like a cat sharpening his claws, or in his case logic and wit. The only people I feel sorry for are those whose emotions have been engaged by a troll (who was pretty obviously a bully in real life and whose strategy of provoking and taunting for attention is the pinnacle of his social achievement in junior high, and who is trying to relive his glory days).

Amen Kiki!

I, on the other hand, view Mike and others as prolonging the problem by engaging him, where if he were ignored, we could have REAL conversations/debates, rather than just have seemingly every thread about just about anything turned into a tete-a-tete with Raptor. It's not only aggravating when one would enjoy a good disussion, it's boring as hell.

What's truly sad is those on here who can't debate the issues, and resort to name calling and character assassination in lieu of an adult conversation.

Like starting a thread where you state you 'pity' someone, simply because you can't get them to blindly agree to your talking points.

Given that you ARE the topic of this thread, I'd say every one pretty much posted on-topic and debated your 'issues' - except you.

Name calling and ridicule isn't 'debate'. Not in the real world, at least.

Yep. That's why people dismiss you so easily when you post in other real world threads.

FREMDFIRMA

I do not pity them.
They have chosen the course of their destiny.
To pity them would denigriate that choice, and worse, would offer mercy where none is deserved or even wanted - in fact to do so would violate my own beliefs about self-determination.

Someone WANTS to don the tinfoil hat or the jackboot, that's their choice - and while I am not obligated to have mercy on them for it, in fact just the opposite, to PITY them would insinuate that it is not a choice, a form of disrespect for individual personhood I find more than a little offensive.

Ain't a matter of "not knowing better" when someone clearly does and makes their choice irrespective of YOUR morals, which they may not even be bound by.
I can despise, mock, even hate em, but PITY ?

Unearned, unwanted, and unforgiveable.

Hunh? What does that have to do with your total irrelevance in real world discussion? Or this one?

Well, I'll leave you now to post to yourself, since that seems to be the discussion you can manage.

Beir bua agus beannacht

Just writing to say that the title of the thread sucks brick.

I don't use the P word, you certainly can if you want but it isn't in my vocabulary. Instead I say I feel bad for someone or I say I feel as though I can relate to their pain, or I say I can't imagine how hard it must be to be them, but I don't think any of those are what you mean, because I doubt you actually feel bad for Raptor, he makes his choices and its his choice, just like you make your choices.

Now with PN there is a part of me that feels bad for him, a part of me, but another part of me knows he does some of it to get money for his links and so forth, so I can't feel bad for him entirely.
