16 bullet holes in the side of his house, no blood spray on the house, supposed previous charge of assault against an officer that was dismissed in court.

The neighbor says he walked up and told him he'd slit his wrist, but WHY does this story sound so suspicious to me? It wouldn't have been hard for the police to feed the witness a story, and something just seems off about all this.

Thoughts?

I remember a news story in the town were I went in school were a Mom called 911 because her son was suicidal and the cops showed up an shot him to death. If you want your neighbor dead just wait till they come out in the yard with a barbecue fork and then call the cops and tell them you have a suicidal neighbor.

If a cop is a random chump, then it's likely he has the flaws of a random chump, rather than being an agendamonkey

Everyone is capable of murder. It's just a lot easier when you have a gun.

Very similar thing happened near where I lived.

Show blood near cops & get capped. They don't get paid to play psychiatrist.

I dig cases like this. A private suicide is so passe; spectacle is the thing. Suicide by cop is an established phenomenon. All it requires is a desperate dramaphile, and a cop doing regular cop things. I hope it doesn't become too popular. Cops possess a devious, low animal cunning. We may find that everyone who dies in contact with the cops was, in fact, suicidal.

The report lacks details about the officers interaction with the decedent after the witness was whisked away. Well, not entirely, because we know that dude was shot, like, Sam Peckinpah style. However, what he said, and did with his toy gun (I imagine neon plastic) is not clear. The stuff we don't know is the stuff that determines how reasonable the shots were. However, when a dude gets shot 16 times, I think that raises a presumption that the cops messed up.

Actually, yes, they do.

Part of their JOB includes shit like handling a hostage situation, talkin a jumper down from a roof, preventing a situation from going ugly when it doesn't have to.

Just cause they refuse to DO it, preferring to just shoot every damn body, doesn't by-default not make it part of their job.

They're also paid to assume a certain level of risk, for damn sure they moan, piss and whine about it even though the profession isn't exactly all that dangerous - and yet they refuse, pushing the risks onto citizens who didn't sign up for it by using force in situations where it may not be necessary, but determining that MAY involve some level of risk on behalf of the officer.

Any time a cop fires on someone in a situation that would have a citizens CCW revoked, you need to really examine WHY they did so, is "officer safety" more important than citizens lives ?

If so, then WTF are they protecting, but themselves ?

16 bullets seems more like Swiss cheesed by cops. That is one hell of a clip by the way. I'm curious to know if he died in slow motion like in the movies....If he wanted to die I'd guess this is better than putting his head in a plastic bag, that is way too common and would not have landed him the starring role in his very own thread.....

Uh huh, and what is the Rule of Law supposed to be protecting ?

People and their stuff, neh ?

Thing is, folk make laws to protect people and their stuff, and yet somehow, eventually, they wind up twisted in their execution till they end up somehow being more important than the things they were invented to protect, often in direct contravention to their intended purpose, like a guard dog gone rabid and attacking it's own household.

And you know, it never seems to annoy the piss out of me, that when that happens, folks think they can solve the problem by making another law - doomed to the same failure, because no one wants to admit or address where the real problem with that is, that the folk enforcing it are batshit crazy, a social subculture that's gone rabid.

Once a law reaches that point, IMHO it has no legitimacy and should be scorned, mocked, and ignored, not obeyed, and that is one of the primary stickin points which set me on the road to anarchism cause I noted THAT stupidity when I was about fourteen.
