After attacking the tobacco industry for nearly 25 years, it looks as though the government might finally gain control and dictate how, and what a cigarette should be.

It's funny. I know chain smokers in their late 70's in good health. I have seen alcohol destroy young lives, and ruin families.

FREMDFIRMA

Yeah, and I note that part of the eagerness to blame lung cancer wholly on cigarettes was helped along by Vaccine makers (See Also: SV40 Contamination) and Asbestos companies (See Also: Mesothelioma) along with other culprits and notorious polluters who were positively gleeful to see the tobacco industry blamed for EVERY case of lung cancer...

Yeah, but no one else but me it seems, has the balls to address THAT little bit of flim-flammery, do they ?

I wonder how many Asbestos related deaths have been blamed on the tobacco companies as an easier, politically convenient scapegoat, while the companies in fact responsible laughed all the way to the bank.

As for repeated attempts to sidestep the Constitution and enact various forms of Prohibition, like the "War on (some) Drugs", despite big pharma prescribing the same ones en masse, and the clampdown on Tobacco, one rule above all is that COMMERCE CONTINUES.

Prohibition does. not. work.

All the attempts do is forment crime, corruption, violence and social chaos, which is of course the entire REAL intent of trying in the first place, to create the hazards so that they have an excuse to "protect" us in a manner which benefits only them.

Fuck em, sooner or later the rest of the world will realize their power rests on the stupidity of everyone else following their orders and will quit listening to and obeying them.

Some of us already have.

PIRATENEWS

John Lee, conspiracy therapist at Hollywood award-winner History Channel-mocked SNL-spoofed PirateNew.org wooHOO!!!!!!

The only thing Big Brother will regulate is doubling the tobacco tax on addicts every 10 years.

Ron Paul v Tobacco Police:

Good idea -- NO MORE TOBACCO SUBSIDIES.

And no more subsidies for the Medical Pharmaceutical Complex.

Quote:

"The most stunning statistic, however, is that the total number of deaths caused by conventional medicine is an astounding 783,936 per year. It is now evident that the American medical system is the leading cause of death and injury in the US. (By contrast, the number of deaths attributable to heart disease in 2001 was 699,697, while the number of deaths attributable to cancer was 553,251.5) Using Leape's 1997 medical and drug error rate of 3 million multiplied by the 14% fatality rate he used in 1994 produces an annual death rate of 420,000 for drug errors and medical errors combined. Using this number instead of Lazorou's 106,000 drug errors and the Institute of Medicine 's (IOM) estimated 98,000 annual medical errors would add another 216,000 deaths, for a total of 999,936 deaths annually. Our estimated 10-year total of 7.8 million iatrogenic* deaths is more than all the casualties from all the wars fought by the US throughout its entire history. Our considerably higher figure is equivalent to six jumbo jets are falling out of the sky each day."
