The fed courts are so corrupt that even lawyers are terrified of what goes on there. Fed judge Bybee on 9th Circuit Court of Appeals wrote the torture memos legalizing torture for the Bush Jr White House, which got him that promotion. Screams for his impeachment are gittin louder...

Good luck with it, and keep givin' 'em hell. Hope it goes your way, but at the very least, you've cost them FAR more than the ticket was ever going to be worth to 'em, so that's a bit of a win in and of itself.

OTOH, one COULD argue that, since the National Parks Service is taxpayer funded, Mr. News is wasting our money. Money that, had it not been spent fighting over a ticket, might have sent dozens of Park Rangers to Wildland Firefighter Training. Way to go.

And just outta curiosity, what the fuck were doing hauling ass down a road adjacent to a Forest Fire?

Park rangers never fight fires, since they might get their dry-cleaned uniform dirty.

I was riding 45 in a 45 zone. No speeding ticket.

He said he decided to pull me over for "too much lean angle", while I was behind a slow car in a tight curve. (Motorcycles must lean in order to steer and turn.) Which is why he erased the audio from his videotape. He testified that he "knew" I was speeding behind a slow car, but didn't have his radar turned on "because he didn't know how to turn it on".

The ranger was hauling ass at 100 mph to catch up, after making an illegal u-turn and passing drivers illegally without emergency lights and siren on. Which is why he erased his video from the videotape, except for the part that DOESN'T show my alleged "traffic crime".

The forest fire was on down the road. Most forest fires are set by park rangers, or their no-bid contractors they hire to put out the fires. Overtime is big bucks for local firefighter arsonists, too.

I was on my way to shoot videotape of the Dragon at Deals Gap, a motorcycle mecca with 636 curves and 36 cops per 22-mile lap. So now this ranger got to be on TeeVee. Again. Note to cops, prosecutors and judges: It's not wise to pick on investigative journalists.

He's a psycho who almost shot another biker during my traffic stop, for daring to ask directions in that same public parking lot.

This is in a county where cops literally murder other cops who make the mistake of riding their motorcycles to work at the jail, and highways are named to honor convicted hit-and-run killers of biker tourists.

Whatever you say, dude. Maybe they run the National Parks a bit differently that they do the State Park system I work for, but we DO fight fires in our state parks.

As to any law enforcement BS, I have no idea what went down. So I'll take your word for it.

But here when they "fight fires", the fires burn for weeks, with not a firefighter in sight. And the firefighters always set their own fire to fight fire with fire. Really pisses off the locals.

Of course that fire was blamed on a biker crash. Suspicious, since a cop was there when it started. This was during a Police Surge that targeted only motorcycle riders. Here's what our sheriff had to say about fire:

Arson is a big problem here, pre-approved by the fire dept, cops, prosecutors and mafia insurance corporations. When a towering inferno was next door to my condo in downtown Knoxville TN, and I tried to give photos to the FD of the arsonist with a flame in his hand, the fire dept supervisor said "I have a jail cell with your name on it if you say that word arson again!" He said "We know the cause and it was an accident!" That was 6 hours before they put the fire out, for a total loss, which did $250,000 damage to our building. The FD was only 3 blocks away. Our private fire investigator said "We never ask about arson, that's how you get killed." That billion-dollar govt contractor burned down its own HQ 6 months later, and got a free new HQ. The contractor's neice is a prosecutor.

As a firefighter, you should know what the rules of the game are, so you don't get burned.
