doing-better.html

Islamic banks aren't failing like the US/UK banks. None of those Derivatives Ponzi scams.

Islamic banks forbid usury, interest and loan sharking, unlike US/UK banks.

Once upon a time, usury, interest and loan sharking were illegal in Europe, until Jewish Masonic bankers extorted the monarchies into debt slavery with endless wars.

The Christian Bible and Jewish Torah forbid usury, interest and loan sharking, which is why the Babylonian Iraqi Talmud has overthrown those two religions.

I'll check my Yellow Pages for the First Islamic Bank of Tennessee.

The downside of that is that it's quite difficult to earn their trust, and they are very stingy with any credit, and you'd best have some collateral up front.
Islamic bankers are like, the most conservative folk on the planet, and given the profession they're in, I say that's a good thing.

And there's a LOT less inclination to screw you.

Some american bankster screws you and rips you off, all he has to "fear" is a tiny fine of less than the profit he made and a little while on house arrest or club fed, living large cause crime pays, and well if you scale it enough.
An Islamic banker screws you or rips you off, he's goin to HELL! and he knows it, Allah may be a merciful dude, but not where his cash is concerned, oh no.

The Future is probably still America's or maybe China's and all our banks will have RMB or maybe Euros

The Middle East will fail to evolve because those religious nuts will continue butting heads for the next hundreds of years

I don't know why you guys portray the Muslims as living under some united brotherhood because when they are not killing jews, Buddhists, kidnapping and beheading christian or hindus they muslims sure do a good job at killing each other

Obama is Receiving One-Dimensional Advice on Islam

"The report that Dalia Mogahed has been appointed to the Advisory Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, which advises U.S. President Barack Obama, filled me with anxiety... To be honest, I was anxious for two reasons.

"First, [when] someone who grew up in a Western environment decides to don the hijab, it is usually [a sign that they are] influenced by a religious ideology [even] more conservative than the one prevailing in the Arab countries...

"The second reason was the enthusiasm shown by the media outlets funded by the Arab Saudi kingdom, as well as the message of congratulations issued by a [certain] Muslim-American organization known for its affiliation with the Muslim Brotherhood. The numerous voices welcoming the appointment puzzled me, and scared me.

Police and taxi drivers fought running battles using rubber bullets and stones at the main Paris airport early yesterday, blocking access to a small terminal for three hours.

The mini-riot followed the alleged brutal arrest of a taxi driver for failing to pay the monthly rent on his taxi licence. Road access to terminal three, the smallest of the three passenger sections of Charles de Gaulle airport, was obstructed from 1am to 4am.

The French interior ministry ordered an investigation into the incident and into reported tense relations between some drivers and a special police unit known as les boers.

"Things got out of hand. Projectiles were thrown at the police, who struck back," said the French Interior Minister, Brice Hortefeux.

Drivers said the clashes began after the special police taxi unit arrested a 38-year-old driver called Zine, who was accused of failing to pay the monthly "rent" of €2,400 (£2,100) to the owner of his taxi badge, or licence. Other drivers protested that the arrest was unnecessarily brutal and that the police had no jurisdiction in a private dispute. One driver interviewed by French radio, Tarek Moktad, said that there had been growing tensions between the special police unit and taxi drivers who queued for return fares at Charles de Gaulle airport.

"The police stop us from smoking, from playing cards and from praying," he said. "We want the government officials to come here and see the situation for themselves." When one driver had been arrested "violently", he said, "the whole profession got into a temper".

Until a decade ago, taxi driving in Paris was an almost exclusively male, middle-aged and white profession. But many women and men from immigrant backgrounds have bought or rented taxi badges and drivers say that tensions with the 70-strong police taxi unit sometimes have racial undertones. The police deny the claim and say they have been trying to persuade the drivers to return to Paris and comb the streets for fares rather than allow their cars to pile up in excessive numbers of up to 300 at the airport.

Nah, anyone can be a muslim, or a muslim bank.
A lot of noise about Dubai finance on JT's last necropost.

But Dubai isn't a muslim nation. It's an ancient Hindu colony. Now I think that that their motto is: There is no gold, but moolah, (mullah?) and momoney is our our profit.

IMHO, India. The RMB is the world's strongest currency, for now, but it's run by socialists, and so I predict disaster because I'm biased that way. I don't think the Euro is going to stick around. Uniting Europe is like herding cats.

I sense an anti-islamic slant here somewhere.

Hindu?

Really?

Most forms of Hinduism are henotheistic religions. They recognize a single deity, and view other Gods and Goddesses as manifestations or aspects of that supreme God. Henotheistic and polytheistic religions have traditionally been among the world's most religiously tolerant faiths. However, until recently, a Hindu nationalistic political party controlled the government of India. Hinduism's vast body of scriptures are divided into Śruti ("revealed") and Smriti ("remembered") texts. These scriptures discuss theology, philosophy and mythology, and provide information on the practice of dharma (religious living). Among these texts, the Vedas and the Upanishads are the foremost in authority, importance and antiquity.

TODAYS DUBAI

man was arrested for having three (3) individual, single poppy seeds on his shirt from eating a poppy seed bagel at Heathrow Airport before his flight. Seriously.
In addition to this man's arrest, there have been several other reports of people being arrested for ridiculous reasons. These arrests include a British man that had a nearly microscopic piece of cannabis stuck to the bottom of his shoe and a woman that was arrested for having *her* codeine prescription - in it's original labeled container - AND SHE HAD A LEGITIMATE PRESCRIPTION AND DOCUMENTATION FROM HER DOCTOR!!! It is just unreal. Britons heading to the United Arab Emirates have been warned that carrying some foodstuffs and common over-the-counter medications could warrant a four-year prison sentence.

Among the banned substances are foods containing poppy seeds; melatonin, which is taken to ease the effects of jetlag; codeine, a common ingredient in pain relief medication, and any trace of drugs such as cannabis, however small it may be.
The warning was issued by the charity Fair Trials International, which assists people facing trials abroad, following a spate of arrests of visitors to Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
The charity's chief executive Catherine Wolthuizen said: "We even have reports of the imprisonment of a Swiss man for "possession" of three poppy seeds on his clothing after he ate a bread roll at Heathrow Airport."
Another reason not to purchase property in this islamic theocracy is that they condone antisemitism.
Dubai could be removed from the women's tennis calendar in 2010 after Israeli Shahar Peer was refused entry to the United Arab Emirates.
The WTA has been gambling since 2001 when it decided to stage a tournament in the United Arab Emirates. This year it came up snake eyes when Dubai barred Israeli tennis star Shahar Pe'er from competing in this week's Barclay's Dubai Tennis Championships.

JT,

You can look up the history, or if you wind up on the right forums, you find there's still a strong tie, of an almost conspiratorial nature. It's a beachhead colony, mostly arab now, but as arab as israel, and as indian as israel is british. Make of it what you will. I can say one thing that it's not about: Islam.

Sure, they play ball with the muslims, because they're in the heart of the muslim world (Israel could learn...) but the main rule in Dubai is "there are no rules."

As New World Orders go, you could do worse (unless you get stuck these, ouch.) But if you need a good place to buy nukes, slaves, etc...

The UAE is a muslim country, but it recognizes the sovereignty of Dubai. They don't want tourists, and make any laws possible to discourage them. You go to Dubai for business. Nothing else. But any business is game, because business is business.
