Just the thing for a Friday before a holiday weekend: Whack-A-Kitty!

(Trust me, it's not as mean as it sounds...)

Enjoy!

My wife just caught me looking at this. Mrs NOBNC says, " What a MEAN THING to do to kitties..."

Then she's not watching closely enough. The kitties are NOT being *whacked* - it only gives the appearance that they are. They're being - quite gently, mind you - *pushed* back down their holes with a padded mallet.

It just cracks me up because I still haven't figured out how damn many kitties there ARE in there! A bunch, for sure. I've had seven kittens in a litter at once, and that many is definitely a handful, and then some. But few things in the world are as fun as laying on the floor and having 7 kitties all over you. Maybe being mobbed by 17 puppies would be close, but I haven't gotten to try that yet...

FREMDFIRMA

Meh, try dealin with a six-cat horde of full grown kitties led by an aspiring evil overlord ?

One of the most amusing factors of the fremgirl breakup was the cat custody issue, I got stuck with the evil overlord - she got stuck with the other five, Molly seems to be filling the overlord gap at the moment, however.

Add to that the fact that she, unlike me, is unable to meaningfully communicate with em beyond "Will you STOP that!", which by virtue of the actually achieving their goal of getting her attention, just encourages the little monsters.

Like most folk she don't realize that the key to a well behaved cat is to treat them in similar fashion to a human infant - find out what need is going unfulfilled, thus causing the bitching, and fill it to purring satisfaction, whether it be food, water, clean litter or contact/affection/attention.

Despite being social solitares, cats DO need affection and attention, but most of em ain't too pushy about it, and that need can be satisfied often by no more than allowing them to sit near you.

Unlike humans, feline behavior actually makes SENSE, provided you understand the cat in question.

And people wonder why I prefer the company of animals...
