I am totally down with it, and not in a salacious kinda way, well, not much.
I mean, we're born naked, clothes are an invention of society, albeit a nice one cause heaven knows what would I do without pockets - but given the furor over the natural process of breastfeeding, and how wound up tight these moral crusader types are (in public, cause we KNOW they're the worst deviants of all in private, and festering with projected self-hatred about it) I think it's a good thing, plus it lampshades the hypocrisy and double standards of modern sexism... you won't see a male construction worker cited for going topless, would you ?

I suspect, though, that your enjoyment of the scene may be somewhat limited depending on the albedo that day. Also there's a universal truth that people who go shirtless tend to not necessarily be anyone other people want to see shirtless.

In other words, my suggestion is always Mardi Gras.

Oh, yay Frem! How often have I wished... especially in hot weather! It's so goddamned unfair; I won't get started or I'd go all day. Who CARES if people don't want to see someone topless, Byte? We see enough fat bellies of guys on the beach, among other things, and I KNOW I'd look like shit nekked, but I don't give a flying fuck. We SHOULD have the right to be as comfortably cool as guys are; this Puritan obsession with mammary glands pisses me off. As I've said before, my retired park ranger friend backpacks topless, and her opinion is the same as mine: "Fuck 'em; if they don't like it, they don't have to look!"

Makes me giggle, however, to think how "religious" right-wingers would have conniption fits if it ever happened. Hell, they can't even take hearing the word "vagina", imagine what THAT would do to them!!!

While generally true, I'm still in favor of it. One of the Halloweens I spent down on Sixth Street here in Austin, there was a group of what looked to be college-age girls walking along wearing nothing but grass skirts, no tops. What I can tell you is this: they were real, and they were spectacular. The girls even stopped to talk to a cop on horseback, who was nothing but polite and congenial to them, and told them to be careful and enjoy the night.

Meh, not like it bugs me any more than it already does - admittedly I have a bit of a prudish streak, but damned if imma push MY weaknesses onto others and then blame them for it, shit like that is what lead to Burquas, yanno ?

Plus I seem to have a different standard and opinion of what constitutes the beauty and glory of humanity than most, so I would be no more bothered by some old lady swinging low than I would some young aircraft carrier without much to honk about - all human, and all beautiful, just differently so.

My ex tried to mock me this weekend about age and injury causing my sixpack to turn into a barrel, and started asking me "whens it due ?", so I just patted ye olde spare tire and told her "Ocktober, an it's gonna be a keg!", meh heh heh.

Life is what you make it, and makin it fun is a worthy goal, always.
