Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Today has been enjoyable, and I realized something. Between CTTS being more vocal (or it seems so to me), KPO, Anthony returning and our new Blue, who arrived in August--why didn't you pop in sooner?? ;o) --we seem to have a VOICE here agan!

Today at least, the trolls and extreme right-wing ideologs are quiet...I don't know why, maybe they're having a meeting somewhere planning to blow up FFF, but it's been quite pleasant. Three different threads I was in were attempts at good debates which taught me a lot about Raptor's pattern (which will help immensely in future), some of the "leftie" posts I've put up have garnered agreement, and I haven't seen a SINGLE obscenity all morning. Wow!

I'm not saying any of these people are "lefties", just that they're reasoned, civil, intelligent people making good arguments, and expressing HUMOR, even!

It was just a week or so ago that I was sick to death of the "We won! I laugh at your pain!" bullshit and had long since grown weary of the consistent stream of filth and personal attacks this place has been filled with. Now a complete turnaround.

Mind you, I want voices from the right, left and middle. I WISH we could attract an equal number of righties we could debate/discuss things with. That would be the ultimate. Sure, I'm enjoying it because there's little of the hard right-wing diatribe, but more than that because people are being reasonable and civil.

Just noticing something that makes this place a pleasant change for the better, today at least.

I put up as many news stories as I could find that seemed they might be of interest. Think I'm going to bug out lest one of the trolls/extreme righties jumps in and spoils my morning.

RAIN coming, even. It don't get no better than this!

and thanks for the welcome Niki. By habit im a lurker more than a poster...but the same tide of BS you are lamenting had me wanting to step in and slap some people around. Figuratively of course....sigh again.

As an anarcho-libertarian, I have common interests with both the right and the left. I can channel reasonable right for you, I think.

It would test how well I understand their positions, having to argue them. That would be fun.

If I were to do it, I could sign off as CTS-Rite. (OK, I know that's really bad.)
