You'd think these assholes'd find somethin better to do with their time than hassle us, but nooooo.

Come to think of it, btw - this is why the idea of legalization and taxation of drugs would FAIL.

A. You'd be locked into limited suppliers for shit quality product.

B. They'd misapply the tax code to try and force you to quit anyways, like they're doing with tobacco.

C. Then they'd turn right around and start bailing them out once they drove the customers off, meh.

All of which would result in the same fucking thing we have now, a criminal underground market, the ONLY thing that'd likely change would be the *reasons* folk went underground for their supply, and not even much of them.

Besides the shine, btw - given the cowpiss that passes for "beer" here in america, a lot of these guys have side batches brewing of something actually worth drinkin, be it mead, wine, or beer - cause for damned sure you ain't gonna find any of THAT worth a damn anywhere else.

Least in Michigan they got the bloody decency to look the other way so long as you don't get too greedy with it, meh heh heh...

Freedom is Important because People are Important

Hello,

I think the vast majority of folks get their tobacco via legal U.S. channels, with most of the remainder getting their tobacco via legal U.S. Indian Reservation channels.

The majority of folks also get their alcohol from legal channels.

I suspect a legalization of drugs would accomplish 2 important things.

1) 90% of people would acquire their drugs from safe, legal vendors.

2) 99% of people would no longer be arrested for possession or use of the drugs.

A worthy goal.

That did used to be the case, but the recent tax increase on bulk tobacco from $1.00 tax on a $14.00 bag, to $31.00 on a $14.00 bag (no, that's NOT a typo!) has caused that majority to significantly swan dive.

It's insanities like that which concern me.

The fact that I am actually *related* to people like this... sometimes scares me.

You should see some of the hillbilly war wagons they run that stuff in, not even the cops will mess with those - hell my uncle carl used the body off a 1940-somethin ford fer his hotrod cause it was the next best thing to real armor plate.
