Maybe we should reduce our thread count. It's an awful mess to keep track of. Something organized. Yeah, I know, I'm chaos man, but chaos breeds its own order. or should.

it would be easier for the reader if there were a handful of threads called things like

"out of control govt"
"partisan thunderdome"
"conspiracy theories abound"
"the war(s) we're ignoring"
"politics as unusual"

or something suggesting same.

And not to single anyone out, but not starting a new thread just to hit people with a story, new or old, I'm not sure. Post to an existing thread, and edit the title to add your story.

Everyone remember "Healthcare debate now with more nekkid jessica alba" or something like that?

You could do the same thing, like

"The war: bombing weddings in afganistan" as an edit, rather than a new thread on "bombing weddings in afganistan." Until a thread got too long or dead.

It's just checking every thread is a pain.

thoughts?

Freedom is Important because People are Important

Hello,

I dislike editing subject lines. It's like censoring the bloke who started the thread.

I also like my subjects divided into specific areas of interest. Long threads go sideways and get blurry. If there's a new subject or a new angle, I enjoy seeing it in a new thread.

Yup, I like it just fine. Keeps me agile, jumping from one to the other, forum to forum, like playing verbal whack-a-mole with virtual vermin.

:)

I'd like to discuss topics without devoting this much time to it. A more efficient model is in order. Resistance to new ideas is probably the biggest obstacle to efficiency, just look at any corporation or govt.

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Now, now...whack-a-mole, shame on you!

I like it just the way it is, too. It takes forever to read a thread, but that's okay, I learn a lot by reading, and it's neat to see people offer arguments and points rather than just attacking someone and calling them names!

I, too, would like new subjects to be new subjects, but I'm new, and most of what I've seen is continuations of discussions, not new stuff being added.
